I think your defense grew up a lot today; this will be a game that serves as a stepping stone for your secondary. Ryan Mallett looked great early, eventually (as I and many here predicted) the pass rush rattled him and he resorted to throwing the ball as hard as he could which eventually burnt him. #37 (too lazy to look up the name) impressed me. He was burned a few times but still made plays down the stretch. Milliner's blown coverage in the first half will probably be a blessing in disguise. I guarantee you it is a mistake he will not repeat. Dre looked good in certain stretches and very human in others. He is growing
For those that every played NCAA online--watching the last few drives with the Wildcat felt a lot like playing the teenage kids that found the plays that could not be defended and just ran them over and over again. I'm not saying it is a bad thing or being insulting at all--hell I would've done the same thing. Today was the first time I've ever seen McElroy look rattled and you still won. If that is as bad as it gets things could get a lot worse for the rest of the SEC.
I will say Arkansas' defense impressed me today. I never thought I'd see the day that Bobb Petrino but a remotely viable defense on the field. I also never thought I'd see the day Trent Richardson got dropped by the first man and didn't pick up a 4th and 1. Your boys proved they could win when the offense doesn't play lights out.
Anyway, again great win and certainly a step in the maturation of your defense. You probably just faced the best offense you'll see for several weeks.
