Hi guys and gals! It's been a long tie since I have been on the forums but I am still screaming ROLL TIDE!

We got some tickets to the SEC Champ game and we have never been and was wondering if you all might have some tips about how to make the best of this experience? What time should we get there, things to do, etc.?

Also I hope I got tickets on the right side! Read where Missouri was home so we got the tickets opposite the press box.

Thanks!

The Fan fair is great. If gameday is there it is also fun. If anyone can go you will be able to get tickets just before the kickoff at reasonable prices. A lot of Jawja fans will be selling theirs.

Go to The Varsity, it's across the street from Georgia Tech off North Avenue. The College Football Hall of Fame if you have time to wonder. The SEC Fanfare is always fun because fans of all schools go to this. Built mostly for kids, but adults have a blast too. Plus, it's a stones throw from the Dome. CNN Center is always lively as they have food and bars where you can wet your whistle beforehand. Across the street is also the new Ferris wheel that is pretty big and will give you a cool view of the city. All in all just walking around is the fun part. I always have the never meet a stranger mentality and meet some awesome folks tailgating. Always a lively atmosphere and a good time since there is usually so much riding on the game.

I've never been to Atlanta or to an SECCG, so I have no recommendations, but I hope you have an AMAZING time and get to witness a beat down of epic proportions!! :bigaldance::rtrsign::bigaldance::rtrsign:

The Fanfare is usually really good, especially if you have kids. Get there early. Maybe hit The Varsity for a great burger for lunch.

I would love, love, love to go again. If I can spot 100 dollar tickets I might just snatch them up. My tickets cost 20 bucks, face value, for the very first SECCG in Birmingham.

@TheChief, I don't know if they will hold or not. I had a friend of mine selling a pair of his for $225 apiece. He was telling me that he was trying to make a little money and that the seats were going for $300+ on places like stubhub and ticketcity. I told him that I had someone interested. I checked online since this someone is a relative. I saw those prices and immediately told her to buy them from there. Again, face value is $100 for upper deck seats. Mine came via UPS this morning!!

I have two for sale in the Mezzanine level, Section 236, Row 5. Would like $200 a piece, and I'm losing some money on that since I paid secondary market prices earlier.

No one said The Varsity was fine dining. But so you know, numerous presidents have made special trips to the Varsity to see what all the fuss was all about.

A lot of Presidents have visited McDonalds, Five Guys, and various other places. Sorry I just don't like the Varsity and there are much better places to recommend to people visiting Atlanta. The Vortex, Cypress Street Pint & Plate, The Silver Skillet, etc They can get greasy hot dogs and burgers in the Dome.
