🏈 Go Utes!

One thing is for sure....We have given their team PLENTY of ammo to use in the locker room. This is why Saban WILL NOT underestimate them. They are undefeated for a reason, and it is not because they are scared or because they do not have any talent.

All due respect, but if the Utah coaches/team/players have to resort to scanning internet sites looking for motivation, they're in big trouble. I seriously doubt what we say here will affect anyone other than the fans. :)

If you'll read part two of the Sugar Bowl preview you'll see an example or two of what their players have been saying over the last few weeks. They have a pretty high opinion of themselves and how they'll match-up against our team. (and I don't see anything wrong with being high on yourself and your abilities.)

That said, the "disrespect" notion started before the bowl games were even announced. Heck, covered a little of that in part one of the preview.

Even with yesterday's news...nothing has changed in what we are going to do, nothing has changed in what they are going to do.

The MWC is not and will never be on the same level as the SEC. Having been acquainted with both conferences ,and their different cultures, one can clearly see how football in the west is nothing more than a game that we enjoy and follow but in the south it is something that is treated on a sacred level.

In Utah where most High School kids play football, Basketball, and other sports look at them as an extracurricular only. Most kids in Utah have missions and other church callings that take much of their time from sports. In the south the kids/families look at sports as a true doorway of opportunity in which they focus and prioritize around sports.

This difference in culture breeds a different kind of athlete that is usually, bigger, faster, stronger and more focused on his/her preferred sport. Joe Tiller said it best, "In Indiana Football is a game, In Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and other southern states it's more like a religious activity".

I do not expect the brUTE to understand this seeing as how they have a bit of a "little stepsister syndrome".

RTR!! Go Cougs!! Beat Utah!!

I had to google it too because I was curious but per wikipedia (I know, some of you hate it as a source) but it claims that they are named after the Ute tribe of North America.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ute_tribe

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_Utes

That's correct. The Ute tribe is indigenous to this region, and we use the name with the blessing of the tribe (similar to Florida State and the Seminoles).

And while I agree with CrimsonCoug's observations about high school sports in Utah, I can't help but chuckle at the irony of being called "little sisters" by a BYU fan. That's rich. :P

Doesn't matter at this time...Sugar Bowl should be in focus, not BYU.

I do not think that anyone in their right mind....

But I will say that if you think that Wyoming upsetting our bottom-feeders means that the MWC is equal to the SEC then you're in for a world of hurt come Friday.

I do not think that anyone in their right mind would feel that the MWC is even remotely on par with the SEC.

It is hilarious to even think it. HOWEVER there are 3 to 4 teams that have the ability to consistently field excellent and competitive teams. Utah is one of them.

Their recruiting is really starting to evolve. We do get 4 and 5 star recruits (not a lot but some) and many 3's. Utah being a national team is still new.

The SEC is loaded and there is no question about it.
