I'm just not sure how people, "fans", want to penalize Bama for playing a bad game when teams like ND and Miami who have played No one sat on the sidelines and said pick us. If Bama doesn't get in it should blow up the sec schedule.

If I were commissioner I would have a 3 game conference schedule with no championship game and I'd penalize you if your opponent didn't have a direction in their name. Seriously, sos has to count or screw the whole selection process.

I know there are a few on here that hate talking about the bama standard but surely we can say historically Natty was what we were trying to achieve and it was a definite possibility. The standard for sure is not a 3 loss team and realistically a 3 loss team will not win the Natty. Ok it is not impossible but highly unlikely.

I’d say for this team, it was a surge for the defense, because they kept us in games and won several for us, while the offense regressed due to injuries and at times, dumb as hell play calling.

With the “moving goalposts” that the committee has used this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were left out. This team isn’t the same one that went through that “ranked gauntlet” midseason. We are beat the hell up. I could see them putting us in using SMU from last year, but I could see us being left out a la FSU the year before.

Remember with the FSU deal, though, it was still only a 4-team playoff then, wasn't it?

Kinda hard to use that as precedence.

That team can compete with any of them. The offense that Bama showcased last night...not so much. That team doesn't fit the bill.

The gauntlet we went through has taken its toll. Beating uga, vandy, mizzou, uT, s car, lswho is quite impressive, but expensive. We were the regular season SEC champions. Who knows what the pencil necks will do this week. They will look at our tough schedule, our injuries, playing the extra game. If the emphasis is on trend, we are not in due to QB play.
