Of course they'll show that piece. And I wouldn't mind that so much provided that they show how much Alabama fans were also appalled by Updike's actions. But, they likely will not. The 'Harvey Updike image' of an Alabama fan is perfect for the TV buildup of the game and will help them sell this as a knock-down drag-out fight amongst a bunch of illiterate, football-crazed, win-at-all-costs, hateful, rednecks who seem to love football more than anything else; and with good reason since that's all they have to be proud of. :lance:

Oh, I'm sure they'll try to take something off of that presentation by showing the tornado in T'town, human interest stories, etc. After all, that's also good for TV. But, it's a shame that they will likely focus on hate, vandalism and tragedy. I guess that's just the way it will be this year. Those are the headlines. The media is what it is.

I think I'd have to have video evidence before I'd believe that. Even then, I would have to believe that it would be the 'Updike-like' element of that fan base and not representative of their fan base as a whole. I can't think of ANY fan base that would do something so crass.

It's craziness all the talk about some trees. The barners on some forums are trying to rally this win for get this...."the trees". I'm sorry but this is just nonsense hippieness. I'm all for saving the wildlife and helping earth and all but give me a freaking break. THEY ARE TREES!! A replinishable plant that grows..and yes...dies.
