šŸˆ Funny...how game reminded me of 1971 orange bowl

...for those that have been around....
This game reminded me of how the Nebraska Cornshuckers demolished Bama in 1971...orange bowl for the National Championship....had the same feel....
O a lot of difference...but... beat Bear and Bama in every phase of game.....
In 71 Bama wasnt the established king....... as they are now.... but that Nebraska teammade plays and exposed every weakness....
just a passing thought....

Coach Bryant got lazy in recruiting in the late 60's and it showed in 68/69/70. 71 was the restart year and The Bone worked wonders until Bama met a team that was more talented. That game was no fluke for it was all Bama could do to get back to the LOS on most plays. The game last night wasn't about the team with more talent instead it was one team wanted to kick our azz and the other teams attitude was UNCLEAR at this time. Nick and staff have work ahead of them for 2019. The defense is in need of a complete rebuild and the OL as well.

Wasn't alive for that one, but remember the 98 VaTech game. But it was not national championship game and I think we were in the midst of some of our troubles weren't we?

In my 41 years of watching Bama football, I've never seen a more demoralizing beat down. There have been some majorly upsetting losses that we were supposed to win, but never one this bad and on this stage. We've administered a large number of these beat downs over these 41 years, just haven't been on the receiving end. Wish this loss was in the regular season like most folks suffer, and not during the NC game. Fun to dish those out, sucks receiving them.

Just realized, we got beat as bad as we beat Notre Dame when we made a mockery of them in the 2012 NC game. Ouch...

I believe the foundation is to solid for this to have a lasting impact but in the end it is a choice by the players and coaches on how they respond.

I recall after the 71 game Bama had some pretty good years:). Lets hope that is the path the organization chooses to go.

I think Saban had a few recruiting misses the last year or two and early draft loses on the defense that got exposed last night.
