šŸˆ FSU immediate reactions thread

We heard a lot about CKD only losing 12 games as head coach before arriving at the Capstone (through 9 seasons). How many is he going to have through 2 seasons in Tuscaloosa? 9 is realistic after viewing the 2025 team yesterday?

I think the vast majority of fans and members here don't want to see what happened yesterday while most also realize that, barring DeBoer quitting, a coaching change is a minimum of 2 to 3 years out. I have serious doubts that the current staff will fix all of these issues. My hope is that they get better through the year, play more consistently than last year, and make some staff changes at the end of the season.
I realize we'd be spending a lot of money if we were to fire deboer. But if we keep playing like we did yesterday, I'm honestly down to just pay him the money, rather then watch him bring this shit down anymore. Either way, we're gonna be hurting if things keep progressing the way they are. I hope he can turn this around and make me look like a fool for even thinking this, it hurts me that we're at where we are right now. But that falls on him with how he's preparing these players to go out and perform.

Understandable but realistically who is writing that check? Who do you hire that you know will do better? Auburn has been trying that for a while now, how's it working out? With NIL and current transfer rules who has proved that they can navigate that? Look at Norvell as an example. Firmly believe that Saban called it quits because he couldn't coach the way he wanted to anymore, couldn't make the difference in the lives of the young men he wanted to anymore. The method of coaching that's always won I'm not sure will win now. Maybe a NFL coach is a better option. College ball is such a mess now I think it's very difficult to consistently get the same results so I'm not sure what you do with these kids.

Ryan Day is a hell of a coach. At least in this era of college football.

Who cares if they buy their roster. He got them to gel and win last season. I’d be willing to bet they will probably win another one this tear

Who cares if he buys his roster? Recruiting is 75% of the battle and if he has resources no one else has that absolutely helps him. His assistant coaches make him. Not saying he's terrible, but not saying he's proven himself like Saban, Kirby, or Dabo yet.

Lol, we gotta hope plenty of people get fed up with it and open up those check books. And again, you'd be taking the gamble on Schumann. But it's just my opinion that he would deliver if given the opportunity. I haven't thought this way about an assistant since Kirby, I loved Pruitt, but never thought about him being the head coach here. Same with almost everyone else. And you're right about the NFL being better than college football right now. If I was given the choice, if jump into the league immediately. That's why I had to immediately shut down my buddies about demeco, there's no shot that is happening.

This is why i want to get away from all the preseason clatter. I was skeptical of Bama, and felt that FSU would not be a repeat of last year. but I ate the rat poison, and set my expectations MUCH higher for BAMA. as I originally suspected, the D still sucks because it is a joke of a scheme when you play real teams. with real athletes. Kalen, refuses to sit players to help them settle. - just like last year. This coaching staff seem ABSOLUTELY un prepared for Malzahn's tricks and eye candy offense. The team had NO energy for this BIG game. I am so done with this coaching staff. Especially the defensive side of the ball. NoAdjustments, NO EXCUSE for the crapfest that was on the field last night.

Elaborate response. I feel smarter now that I have read it. Beck is dealing it and CJ Carr looks very poised.
Yourw comparing a guy who's been starting for years to a QB who started for the first time. Cmon man.

Being smart ass isn't helping you... And what made you think we would've got Beck? Since you wanna be smart ass...

Who's at Miami? His girlfriend at that time. He transferred there to be with her before they supposedly broke up. He supposedly tried to get Georgia to give him a better NIL deals and it backfired on him. So yeah.

Doesn’t matter now. Really. It doesn’t.

I’d be willing to bet you’d take Day over Debra at this point

I know I would. Our head coach at the moment is mediocre at best, middle of the road in the SEC. He might be even bottom 4.

Ain't no way in hell. Day has an ego problem and shows his ass all the time. He's a lot like Dabo where he tries too hard and looks goofy when he is "trying too hard". And you'd want him gone with his record against his arch rival, just like most others here.

Day plays in a Top 2/3 heavy conference where he doesn't have to perform every week. They just so happened to play a team where Arch played terrible. They still only scored 14 points. No, I would not take Ryan Day 1000011795.jpg

Yeah ok.

Highest winning percentage in college football out of active coaches (4+ seasons) but……nahhhh he ain’t good enough for bama.

Whatever.

He’s gonna laugh at Bama and the rest of the country when they win 2 in a row.

We saw it in Kirby, saw it in Day, saw it in lanning, saw it in Freeman, he's one of those guys.
Saw what in Kirby? How badly the 3rd down defense was the last six years he was in Tuscaloosa? (A scheme issue, but I've said that.)

Saw what from Lanning? Or Day? Few knew of either unless they followed their specific teams. Freeman? Please. The very things people are criticizing DeBoer for...like his personna on the sidelines, fit Freeman like a glove.

While hindsight can be 20/20 claiming 20/20 foresight with this group of guys? I'd bet people who were/are OSU fans didn't know Ryan Day from a buckeye. Hell, you were yelling "Glen" with no mention of Lanning and this is something everyone saw? He was a position coach: unknown to anyone outside of Tuscaloosa or Athens (with a lot in both places who still didn't know Dan's name.)

And this would be my first "FSU reaction:" Damn, the hyperbole.
