Guys and gal.
Bateman besides for not keeping it a few times on the zone read looked really good. I challenge you to review the game and watch without bias. I can see why Lane wants him in the game, the offense flows where it is supposed to with him in the game. His 1 interception was really on the receiver and he had one other iffy throw that he threw the slant to the wrong shoulder which cost us a first down by half a yard. Overall though, the plays where called correctly and he was decisive with the ball.
Coker played ok and made some big runs and competed well. His misses were awful and could have easily thrown 4 interceptions in the game, struggled getting the plays and getting them called, wasn't on the same page with his receivers and was throwing high alot which is very dangerous. Coker did lead a great drive in his first one even with some big misses and the touchdown throw he made was a great throw. When he rolls out he looks good dropping back and letting it go for some reason he struggles bad,, even with his supposed cannon.
I think because of public sentiment and effort Coker may get the start this week but if you compare apples to apples Bateman did well and you can see why the offensive coordinator likes him more.. he runs what he is supposed to, at the speed he supposed to and makes better decisions.
I ultimately don't care who plays as long as we win but after rewatching the film a few times Bateman, besides for not keeping it on the zone read a few times did very well and got us in the right plays.
