I'll admit I'm a bit disappointed in Saban over all that.

He should have gone for a 2 point conversion after the TD, then an onside kick.

And then used his timeouts to stop the clock so we could score again.

Amen. Punt block.

Question: What did ya'll think about that timeout taken right before the field goal at half?

Called a TO, then showed a different alignment.

I loved the TO before half. I loved the last TD as well. @nd unit has to get the work in as well. I liked CNS's response in the Bham News this morning in regards to the last TD. "The call was for a 7 yard out route but with bump and run coverage the QB is taught to throw it deep. Next time maybe they won't play bump and run!!"

A thing of beauty. Thats called Coaching.
I agree. Maybe I should rephrase, what do you think about the rule(whatever it is) that allows that TO to be taken? Smart move by the coach, obviously, but I'm not a fan of it. I don't mean icing the kicker, which in actually that is all it is, but the way it is done.

The rule will probably be tweaked next year because of CNS(ala any recruiting rule). Fact is, it does ice the kicker and throws them out of rhythm and timing. They all have some routine. I imagine CNS does the same thing to our kickers to throw their rhytm off in practice.

I don't have a problem with it. It's part of the game. If you can change a outcome of a play without even snapping the ball, then thats ok by me. You can't hogtie a Coach if he sees something wrong with the alignment, ice it, or just give a edge to his players. I think if you take that out you are nit picking the game. JMHO

I don't like the rule, or its companion rule in basketball that lets you ice the foul shooter, but as long as they are on the books that way, I say use them to our advantage.
