Absolutely I think Florida got exposed today. Terry might have eluded to it earlier when he mentioned USC chocking. I think there were two things in common with the games today.
Both teams seemed to let their coaching staffs hold them down. Florida came out still managing a win. USC...not so lucky.
If you look at the games you see the classic "shell" mentality that BAMA teams have played with in recent years. That means don't do anything that can possibly beat you. Don't take shots, don't be aggressive. Just try and keep it close and hope for the best in the end.
In Florida's case, they are superior in every way to Tennessee, but they didn't game plan like it. They had the idea that they would keep the ball in Tebow's hands 70% of the time and he would make enough plays. He did, but I don't think it was what Urban envisioned. Florida never even tried to go down field in this game, and gave wayyyyy too much respect to UT's defense IMHO.
USC played without super freshman and the coaches seemed to be like deer in headlights. instead of letting Corp make some plays, it seems to me that they hamstrung him. Supposedly......Washington doesn't have a player on their roster that could start at USC, but someone forgot to tell Pete Carroll that. Carroll and company promptly went out there playing "not to lose". It cost them.
Classic turtle mentality on offense from both teams. Only difference is UT is just a little bit worse than Washington.
Florida got seriously exposed in this one IMHO. They've got a nice defense, but they have issues on offense and can be had! Maybe not by Charleston Southern, but....
