Unless he just decides to not follow him, he'll probably bring in Todd Orlando as well. That's who id assume would be the actual Defensive coordinator calling plays if he went with Golesh. Slap the "Co" tag on Durkin and let him help out with whatever position group and help with installing for that week. We'll see, but coaches typically bring in coordinators they're familiar with.First impression on Golesh to auburn... he's better than promoting Durkin, and he'll keep Durkin, so there's that. And maybe he turns out to be their Heupel, but this will be a massive step up for him... and now the Heupel structured offense is in two places in the league (twice on UA's schedule each year). Teams will continue to adjust, Bama and UGA included. On a side note, it isn't an attractive system for the NFL... the chance for big stats and the money will lure good players, but he will run into some recruiting issues in the SEC that he'll have to overcome. Bottom line, they screwed up on Sumrall... a guy that IMO is a much better coach and "program leader". I like Golesh as a person and he's good at what he does, but he's going to have a difficult job in auburn, IMO. I will give them a B- on the hire though.
