Not in this case, but, their own protocols read...

PRINCIPLES

The committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:
  • Strength of schedule,
  • Head-to-head competition,
  • Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory), and,
  • Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.
I think they fall to #9 or #11. This helps Bama anyway.

That last one seems pretty important, lol. Not having your head coach is a pretty big deal.

The more I read and hear on the dude I have to say Kiffin is an absolute piece of shit and the idea that there were some Bama fans that wanted the jerkoff to be our HC is laughable

In fairness to the fans, most don't realize the depth of it with him. They see the high octane offense, the "funny" interviews, the confidence that he has and they assume he'd just be a championship winning machine in Tuscaloosa. There's just no real depth to their assumption(s). Mostly casual fans who don't follow things closely. Or in other cases, some are people like Lane themselves, who are just impulsive and don't worry themselves with possible/likely consequences.

Absolutely ridiculous if they drop Ole Miss because Kiffen left. Those players earned the right to be there.

I agree, I think they are good enough without him to belong. That doesn't mean it wouldn't be funny however. And, we saw what they did with FSU a couple years back when they lost Jordan Travis... Difference to me is, without Travis I don't think FSU belonged. If Ole Miss can retain enough staff, they'll have to talent to belong.
