At the moment in time when George Teague ran down Lamar Thomas and stripped the ball, that was the fastest I've ever personally witnessed an Alabama player run.
Lamar Thomas had a better time in the 40 - he had the better stats. I think he was considered (or at least touted as) the fastest man in college football at that time. Statistics can be very misleading.
