Take it for what it’s worth but the word on the street is Freddie Roach will be gone after the bowl game. He has a job lined up with Demeco and the Houston Texans. I heard about it yesterday and then Vodney Cleveland de-committed about an hour later so it may well be truth to it. I guess we will find out soon!

Let's say this is true. Wonder who the candidates would be?

Lady poster on the Bama rant says Freddie will coach the bowl game and then is joining DeMeco and the Texans.

The HS defensive lineman commit for 2026 changed his mind last night. Might have nothing to do with Freddie.

Also, we can expect to see him on offense in the bowl game now. Excited to see what he can do.

In the long run, I think he has a good shot at being a pretty good playmaker. I don't think he has a boat load experience at WR, so he's got a lot to learn, but he's played a ton on offense in HS at QB. His athleticism is off the charts... Saban put him on the Trevon Diggs path of making him a DB, which I think he'd have also excelled at. And he can fall back on, even if he goes to WR full time and it doesn't work out. But he certainly has the ability, IMO, to be a heck of a receiver. He'll also probably be the emergency QB if Lord forbid, Bama has a rash of QB injuries next season...

Great clip. Will he play both sides or move to WR given potention returning starters at CB?
We'll see him on both sides throughout games. Given our depth problem for the bowl game, we'll likely see him mostly in the offensive side of the ball. I would love for him to ball out on both sides and earn himself a trip to New York. He's got the talent.

Make no mistake, keeping Mbakwe was a win for this staff. On and off the field. "You keep the ones you want to keep..." They did that, and also kept Kiffin and Ole Miss from getting a win. The Rebs can celebrate Haynes if they land him, but Bama ain't sweating that one. This staff didn't want to lose Mbakwe though.
Any other wants from our current players in the portal that we battle for? We've seen 2 back in as many days.

I am not laughing at what you are saying. I'm laughing about how you said it...

🎼 Where the streets have no name ...

Did Mbakwe want to be a DB when he signed with Bama or did Sir Nick tell him he was a DB?
Wanted to play both ways if possible but I believe originally we sold him on DB since our safety situation at the time was good and we needed DBs this year. We also didn't know 100% what we were getting in Zabien Brown until he showed out...now we got more than we can handle and Safety might be light this year so he should get playing time in one of the spots we have opening up from Devonta Smith's departure or Saab and Moore departures.

Similarly he'd be a good fit for offense to take over Law's spot IMO he's physical at the point of attack and is very unselfish in blocking scenarios. He's also got some shimmy and shake to him. Hope we use him correctly, time will tell.
