As a 2-way with Hunter as his pitch.

I can't think of an analogy that fits.

I do think paying attention to a lot of this, right now, is a waste of time.

It makes me smirk a bit watching reactions now and wondering how badly some will crash when the portal opens after screen camp.
Well at least on the good news side of things Miami Transfer WR Horton to Bama is getting a lot of steam. Looks like we have our WR transfer for the cycle at least, may snag 1 more. Also another thing is that Mbakwe hasn't hit the portal yet, so maybe he's rethinking it or Ryan Williams is bringing him back in the fold.

Keep an eye on this one, big tackle from Washington. Obviously the staff is high on him.

He's not been the best though through this year, so not sure he's going to answer any immediate problems but could be a future guy to look for.

Yup. I understand Georgia is playing the same game, won't match offers as well.

I said this the other day on another board: what Ole miss doing is unsustainable. They can't recruit on the trail so they using portal to get what they want for most part. I have a feeling it'll blow up in their face next year.

Unless they consider sustainable to be good but not quite good enough, then I agree. The problem with playing Super Market Sweep in the portal is you end up grabbing a lot of pieces that are valuable, but don't really make sense in some ways and are difficult to manage in others. And while Kiffin has his positives as a coach, his negatives are centered around program management. He's a guy who throws caution to the wind and feels like everything will work out ok in the end. It rarely does for him, and never has as a head coach, so it's an interesting strategy. But, it's who he is.

All that said, Mbakwe is a tremendous talent, IMO. And while there had been some whispers about some stuff, I'm personally a bit surprised that this is such a strong possibility. I thought he'd be at UA for 3 or 4 years and end up being a team captain. But, if it's going to be about money and playing guarantees, then there's not much UA can do about it.

Does that make 4 WRs available for the bowl game?!
That’s what I saw too. Man I hope fans respond by boycotting the postseason. After all, the players surely are. End all your paid subscriptions too. That’ll motivate the powers-that-be to fix this shit.

I see some want to keep putting lipstick on this pig!!!! Bama cannot win the arms race. Reactions to my post here will be an overreaction and make it sound like I am jumping off the cliff. I am not, in the end Bama will find a way because we are Bama and football program matters a great deal. It even took CNS one year to adjust to change the year early recruiting came into existing..

Football matters at Alabama but Bama doesn't have the money to compete with those with an endless checkbook. I really don't have a problem with 7-5 or 8-4 seasons IF you actually have a large group of players that play for themselves and the school.

You're going to need great coaching now more than ever and injury luck. 50-55 really good players.
