šŸˆ Duron Carter declared eligibile: He's practicing...

Is it safe to say things r looking pretty dim on Duron getting into camp at any point? Every week we keep hearing "by the end of the week", 2 weeks later he's still nowhere to be found. This def. seems to be more than just a "transcript issue" as is being claimed.

Saban mentioned that it is a transcript issue in his most recent press conference. What kind of transcript issue may be the question to ask.

"Former NFL star Cris Carter was on the sidelines for the second consecutive practice, but his son Duron still is not practicing with the Tide. Alabama still is waiting on transcripts from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. "We're hopeful that we'll get them by the end of this week, but the week is running out," Alabama coach Nick Saban said after Thursday's practice. Here's a possibility: Alabama has only been allowed to practice with 105 players since camp opened on Aug. 5. Carter's name was not listed as one of those 105 players. The roster can expand next Wednesday when classes start. Prediction: That's when Carter will start practicing. Just a thought. Why would the father be on the sidelines if the son isn't eventually going to be cleared?" From Don Kausler Jr. at AL.Com

Putting it in a bit of perspective...it's a school working on a quarter system and a player going to a semester system. Then, there is the point UA wants a hard copy, not a faxed/emailed transcript. It's the same with any kid coming in...

He'll be a bit behind, yes. He's in shape, yes. He has had the playbook for a bit so he shouldn't be that far behind.

^^ yeah i know its not technically the deadline, but there's just so many times you can hear "we expect him at the end of the week", "we expect him at the beginning of the week", "we expect him at the middle of the week", etc. before u just roll your eyes and say yeah okay.

It pathetic that I can ask this and it actually be a reasonable question, but if this is not clear up by week two, would he be able to travel with the team to Pennsylvania?

For that matter, are there any elements of the week one that he would be required to miss beyond not playing?

I'm surprised that this is not a bigger story in Alabama circles.

It could be a good sign that we are better off at the WR position than what most think. Not that not having him is ok but we have talent that can step up.

Duron Carter not at practice today (Thursday) either.:frown: My optimism is dwindling. I think the talent we have at wr right now is good enough to get the job done. DeAndrew White is going to wow :shock:some people.

Saban on Duron Carter: "I have some information, but at this point, I'll believe it when I see it."

From the press conf:
ā€œI have some information,ā€ Alabama football coach Nick Saban said. ā€œBut at this point, I’ll believe it when I see it.ā€
Saban continued, ā€œIs that fair? Can you read between the lines?ā€

Yeah he pretty much confirmed it then... and I think the fact that Saban was paying ALOT of attention to DeAndrew White in practice the last few days supposedly should tell us alot...

I think the question now is whether we will EVER see Duron play for Bama because if he doesnt play THIS year, would he be kept around (or stick around) for next year? Hopefully im proven wrong in all this tho...

Personally, I haven't had my hopes up at all with Duron. He didn't impress at OSU. Until he proves he isn't an academic liability and does something on the field, I'm not going to lose any sleep over him.

You should have to take a careful look on some of the training highlights uploaded over YouTube which shows him working out by his father. He's quite impressive.
