🏈 Doom and gloom or sunshine pumper,

I, for one, would rather this team go into the next two weeks of practice with lots of room for improvement following a 25-point win, then go into the next two weeks of practice with lots of room for improvement following a 25-point loss.

I still recall a few of those and I by far prefer this situation.

I gotta be me. :icon_joker:

Tell me about these few you remember.

FWIW, we've had four games in the last twenty years we've lost by 25 points or more. Without anyone doing the research can anyone name all four? If not, how many of the four?

How long has it been since we've lost a game by 25?

I know we lost to Southern Miss in one of the most painful games I've ever witnessed in my life by 20+ in 2000 but i think it was like 21-0 or 24-0. Pretty sure Ole Miss (damn Eli Manning) and LSU put it on us pretty hard one year, at least 20 points. Florida blew us out the year before the 92 championship and Arkansas prison raped us the year before the 99 SEC Championship. Thats all I got without you letting me look it up lol

vs Virginia Tech in the Music City Bowl is one.

As soon as I saw 25 points I thought of UT visiting during Stallings era. Do you recall Manning leading their band in Rocky Top? It's a mental image I'll never be able to delete.

Music City was the last one and if you think about it you'll recall another from that season when we got demolished by Arkansas on the road.

With the loss to LSU in 1997 we have our four: three under DuBose and one under Stallings.

Other notables that have crossed my mind thinking about this...

Florida, under Stallings in '91 before we went on that 20 something game winning streak. Louisville in a bowl game but I can't recall which bowl it was. Was it a Curry or Perkins coached team that lost so badly to Notre Dame back in '86 or '87?

Damn, blocked that one out of my head. As I have the "Honk if you sack Brodie" game :dejection:

That mid-October game (not the 3rd Saturday) is the day I knew without a shadow of a doubt I didn't like Manning—despite his ability. After that we had the infamous "mooning a GA," story, hush money, etc.

As much as I've tried to block the memory every time I see him it comes back to mind: vividly.

At the end of this season I believe it'll end up being one of the top three defensive lines we face this season.

Based on Phil Steel's unit rankings, that WAS the best DL that Bama will face in the regular season. He ranked them #1 in the ACC ahead of F$U. Anytime he ranks anything ahead of F$U, rest assured it is well deserved.

He has SC and UF tied for first in the SEC with Bama and Ole Miss tied for 3rd. Of the others that Bama will face, he has Arkansas, the barn, and LSU tied for 5th. He has ut 8th, MSU 9th, UK 12th and atm 13th. Actually atm and Vandy tied for LAST!

I didn't see much out of LSU's DL that was overly-impressive against TCU. But, if there's one thing we have learned, we can't take what LSU does against one team and use it as a barometer on what the Tide will see.

I don't believe A&M's DL is anywhere close to VT's. Ole Miss? That's left to be determined but my instinct tells me people are expecting their younger guys to be that good all year long.

Ole Miss returned all but 15 Career DL Starts from 2012, so PS's #3 SEC ranking of them was due primarily to that rather than the new guys. They returned 4 DL starters from 2012.

Just like the 2000 Orange Bowl, the missed XP. I had no problem with Manning honestly, I loved his game, despite what many NFL scouts saying he had "happy feet". He was a class act. No, the one person I still hate to this day is that fatass Fulmer. Hated him before reporting us, hated him even more afterwards.

In college? :icon_eek:

Uh. No sir.

Seriously? You've not heard about even that?

Charges filed, went to court, settled before trial for an undisclosed amount and gag orders placed on all parties involved...off the top of my head I can't recall if she was Bensel-Myers'd or not—though I'm fairly sure she was.

Didn't it blow up more after he mentioned it in his book?

I don't recall. It was easy to put him aside, except for the Sportscenter references, after he left UT. Well...until someone like Greg comes along and throws out an arbitrary number KNOWING I follow the numbers...and then I remember.
