šŸˆ Doom and gloom or sunshine pumper,

@bamaraider: here we go down a memory lane...

Following this Manning bit at UT here's how I recall reactions surrounding TN at that point.

While this is going through the judicial system and seeing what's clearly hush-money with the "no admission of guilt" caveat...however we're paying a lot of money spins at every corner...

We find out that their new QB—Tee Martin in their 1998 run—is being paid money from an insurance agent in Mobile with physical proof...tensions were high against UT.

The point is that level of tension between the two schools escalated that mid-October Saturday with Manning leading the band in Legion Field. Those actions were met by "he's only __ yrs old, talented, from a family that..."

Manning leading to Martin leading to Fulmer leading to Culpepper...follow that emotional trail in your mind for a few minutes.

Let me say this and see if I can put this freakin' thread out of my mind.

Doug Dickie was a master at handling issues like this at UT. Even with evidence in front of the NCAA he had his pull.

reality is that we are minues three great players from last year. There is talent on the OL, but it takes not only talent but chemistry for the Ol to click. Our WR group did not have a great game either. VT is as good a defensive front as we will say all year, IMO, but you can bet others were watching how they loaded the box and locked up on our receivers in press coverage. You can bet we will see that again.

Honestly looking at it, I'm glad the team is now going into the bye week knowing what they have to work on. Not to say I would prefer their performance against Virginia Tech; but, it is good though that they see that see a glaring issue that needs to be worked on, instead of going into it with sort of a cocky attitude after seeing A&M's defense.

Saban Trained the Fans

Why is there any question about why the fans are "disappointed"?

Saban trained the fans. "Don't focus on outcomes, focus on details; focus on how you do things; focus on doing things the right way. Do things the right way and the outcomes will be what you want. Don't and they won't"

And, you can't figure out why fans are disappointed? We listened to Saban and we believed what he said.

We ignored the outcome and we focused on "how" the offense blocked or more accurately, didn't block...

Forget communications. This was an issue of terrible technique (nobody even remotely looked like they could play SEC let alone the next level...including, and maybe especially Cyrus...pitiful)

But, the biggest frustration was they stood there flat footed and didn't even wave as the VT defenders came by. Didn't block ANYBODY...forget the right man...hit SOMEBODY...that goes for the entire offensive line and the blocking backs....all of them.

Can you fix this in two weeks? I don't think so... By LSU? I hope so...this is a little late for learning technique and developing a high motor...

Alabama fans are more sophisticated than just scoreboard watchers. They understand the game

If being number 1 was easy all the teams would be there. We can micromanage from the sidewalk, however I have a good feeling that CNS will have things under control. Johnalina Sootball is in for a real treat that he can rub his fingers together for another reason.
