Unfortunately, all teams don’t play each other… even in the power 5… so unfortunately, all you have is “opinion”.

In most years, after #1 and #2 there is a considerable drop off. Sometime #3 can compete with the top two, but rarely can #4 let alone #5-10.

True that. But if Uc had to play a P5 schedule, it would have lessened the “opinion “ part of it,
One win against ND should not carry that much weight.

Why does this matter for Bama? I think you are confusing Bama with other programs that need to be propped up. Sometime waaaay in the future it may matter for Bama but not most years. Like UK basketball, Bama football gets the benefit of the doubt simply based on the eye test and program history.


Agree with this. People keep pounding on the Group of 5 schedule but Bama does this to most teams regardless of which group they are from Power 5 included. See MSU, Washington, ND etc...

It all matters at some point. Had we had two losses it would have played a major part of the discussion. In a year where there are two one loss teams fighting for the last Playoff position strength of schedule matters. Our schedule next year is soft! You can bet it will be an argumentative point against us. May not matter, but it's part of the discussion.

I think most agree that a two loss team probably shouldn't make it into a 4 team playoff over an undefeated team. When you get to a fight over one loss vs undefeated it definitely depends on strength of schedule. Even a one loss Big 10/12 or PAC12 champ deserves in over an undefeated G5. And Notre Dame shoudl only ever be considered if they are undefeated and their SOS is in the top 25.

With two losses we would not deserve it period. I am one of those you take care of business then it does not matter for Bama. Bama football is not the same as bama basketball where you do not get the benefit of the doubt. This is what tradition and blue blood does for you.

Fair enough. One last shot and I will leave it alone, Bama > SEC, always has been. Yes an arrogant statement I know but I get this from watching bama football for 50+ years.

Hard to disagree with that. A lot of teams and fans have been riding this wave with us in efforts of claiming conference superiority.
