šŸˆ Defense struggled---any explanation?

When you do check the replay, it'll shock you how many mental mistakes those four made. There were a few times last night I was shocked to see how out of position some of the guys were.

BUT, again, goes back to playing a scheme we don't use that often, IMO. IE: Like the sacks we gave up against WKU when we weren't keeping any TE's back in pass pro.

Nico, especially. I was shocked to see how many times he seemed to be out of position, beat, or just missing tackles. Milliner was more of just flat out missing tackles. There was more than one occasion he was draped ALL OVER the receiver and all he had to do was make the tackle but just flat out missed.

Speaking of all over a receiver, am I the only one still pissed at that deep ball where they called Pass Interference on Norwood (I think it was Norwood) when the freakin DB had him in a damn armbar all the way down the field?

Yeah, that was Bama's only penalty and it was very weak. The LSU DB could have been called for interference. Even Gary Danielson said the call was iffy.

Mettenberger was not a mediocre quarterback who suddenly played a great game. He was a top-rated juco QB who had struggled early on but finally played like everyone expected from the get-go. Might know it would be against Alabama. Kudos to LSU for playing a great game and kudos to Alabama for coming back to take the win like the champions we know they are.

i said it before the season and it is the case that this year's secondary is a little rough around the edges. they appeared to be out of position on many of the pass plays that went for big gains. the timing of mett's throws was perfect given LSU's Oline's ability to block out rush even with 5-6 rushing.

overall it was tough because we didn't get players squared up on mett hitting him often enough. when we did hit him it was weak sauce. in addition, our secondary couldn't seem to get in position to defend their passing attack... particularly their number 80 who must have been in stealth cloaking mode the entire game as he was never covered it seemed.

they better figure something out before we play UGA.... Aaron Murray eats mett's pancakes and syrup without asking.

Aaron Murray isn't "all of that." Never has been and he's certainly not destined to be. Hell, Mett was about to pass him on the UGA depth chart simply because of Aaron continuously making bad decisions. Even starting three years, he still does the same.

Let's not forget. Murray is a QB that has led his team to ONE win over top 20 teams in his career. One out of 16/17 attempts.

Georgia does one thing consistently. They don't reload, they rebuild soft, underachieving teams.

All that said, comparisons of UGA and LSU? Come on now.

Going to your first point...

One thing LSU did on offense that impressed me was their game plan. They consistently took our CB's out of routes by sliding players like TE's to the boundaries and leaving our safeties covering their WR's. Solid approach especially when keeping us in our base.

I don't see Georgia near in the same light as I do LSU.

Georgia to me serves no threat to Bama because if you take away their ability to run they're dead in the water because Murray has got to be one of the worst QBs in the country let alone the SEC.

You can count on one thing with Georgia and that is they'll find a way to shoot themselves in the foot and give you a chance to blow the game wide open.

Murray will make bad decisions and at times their defense has bailed them out, but against Bama I just don't see them being able to do that.

even with as bad as Bama played on Saturday they were still good enough to blow Georgia out.
