did u just decide to completely skip over this part...
"It is standard procedure for a player to be declared ineligible immediately whenever a question of whether the player violated NCAA rules arises."
Saban didnt suspend him. At least know the facts before speaking on something.
U guys mindset is part of the problem. It's the kids fault for making a bad choice (IF he made it). Yes, if he allowed an agent to pay for him to come down to a party and pay for anything else, he is just as much at fault as the piece of crap agent. However, if he was invited to a party and simply went, then we should throw him under the bus? Seriously, u could at least wait until all the facts are out.
Few things here:
1.) Your right, I missed the fact that he was ruled ineligible instead of suspended. Big, Big difference. Either way, he will not play a down until this is cleared up if at all. Either way, Dareus nor UA wouldn't be in this mess hadn't he gone. Correct? Or am I jumping the gun on that observation too?
2.) Well I certainly won't be upset if Dareus is cleared of this mess. It does seem like he was exploited considering the passing of his mother before his trip. People just don't think straight when they lose somebody close to them. Dareus is already paying for this mistake. I feel bad for the kid but rules are rules despite how much they suck, especially considering the timing in someones life.
3.) Speaking of timing...I case you've forgot about it, UA has been getting hosed by the NCAA over the last 20 years. We are not exactly on their gold star list. We are currently under probation. J Harris was ruled ineligible for 6 games last season... the national championship season. Andre Smith was ineligible for the Sugar Bowl last year too. Alabama has been targeted like mad the past 20 years by agents & the NCAA alike. Why? Because they can. We are & have been an easy target. Due diligence is the premium that everybody at UA needs paying right now. ANY hint of misconduct is not welcome & should be dealt with accordingly. I believe this attitude has been embraced as for the most part in the program but it only takes a ONE person to screw it all up. SEE -->Reggie Bush, Antonio Langham, Andre Smith, Albert Means, the list goes on & on.
4.) BTW enough facts are out there, some of which are by Dareus' own admission, so much so that he has been declared ineligible. Dareus went, nobody made him go. Does that fact mean that we are throwing him under the bus? No dice.
I will not pretend to know your mindset, Dr. Frued, but it seems there are some key FACTS you are not recognizing.
