| LIFE CV-19: Effects on life, work, and sports

Your post come across as emotional, simmer down man ;) Your point will come across better if you keep it factual.

And yes, Fauci needs to be held accountable. I can give you many reasons he should be held accountable 1) his role 2) gain of function research linked to this. Hell I won't even begin to talk about his flippy floppy nature...

And when the White House messages Omicron the way they did...remind me who the idiots are and who's politicized it. I know the left wants to blame the right for politicizing it. From my perspective, the democrats have made this far more politicized than the conservatives.

And yes, doctors took an oath.

I'm vaccinated and I believe that people should have the right to not be vaccinated if they so decide.

#MyBodyMyChoice right?
I’m not emotional at all. Everything I’ve said is factual and can be backed by science and peer reviewed research.

Everything is the left’s fault I get it, but if you want to talk facts then it has start with truth and the right politicized it from the very beginning. To say dems have done so more than repubs is not factual at all. To say the left has politicized this more than the left is like me saying the Repubs are responsible for the George Floyd riots.

We highly disagree on Fauci. Fox News, the Trump White House, and the Repubs have made him the bad guy, but he’s the furthest thing. “Flippy floppy”, you do know Covid is new right? It’s ever changing, so scientists and doctors are learning as they go.

People do have the right to choose to be vaccinated or not, there’s not a vax mandate, if a company mandates employees to be vaxxed then that’s their right to do so.

We do agree on something…..my body my choice and I hope you have that same energy for abortion rights

Agree BamaMD. I am a cardiac ICU nurse. I have seen the effects of this disease and it is horrendous! Close to one million deaths is hardly close to the symptoms of the common cold. I am not in favor of mandatory masking or lockdowns, however, I suggest that my Bama friends on her e take this virus seriously. Some will have mild symptoms. But...some will die from it.
Thank you for everything you and your coworkers are doing and have done

All I am going to say is my dad went from fine to in ICU within a week of the first symptoms. He spent 2 months fighting it and was close to getting released when his body gave up. People don't die directly from COVID just like nobody dies from HIV or AIDS or a ton of other diseases. It is the pneumonia or lung, heart, and kidney damage that gets them. Arguing over how deadly it is is stupid. It kills people seemingly randomly in the same family. Do what you want with your life but quit pretending that you are superior for not taking any precautions and trying to talk badly about those who do. Better to keep your mouth shut a lot of times.

Abortion is murder any way you look at it. My body my choice ends when you ignore birth control. It's an easy choice. What an idiot doesn't use the many ways to use it

Gosh, not sure how to respond to the opinions here but I see this everyday and its real. People are still dying. I'm not for lockdowns, mandates or the complete politicalization of this virus but I know its real. I had 5 positive cases last night. I fight for my patients and community everyday against this virus, misinformation, politicians, celebrities, wannabe experts on social media and Dr. Google. Its a slap in the face to expect our medical community to keep fighting to save lives against this virus when people don't believe its real. I wish you guys to come and visit the ICU's, the packed ED's the waiting rooms and see my world. Maybe watch someone die in front of you because their lungs don't work because they have bilateral pneumonia or a 13 month old child that you have to intubate because mom and dad didn't get vaccinated and now their child is paying the price. I see this every time I go to work, I hear the wails of crying families as you tell them that their loved one has died. I'm of the mindset to say we all quit, let it all go to hell and then maybe people will begin to understand the sacrifice we make as a medical community as we try to help our fellow man. So no, its not "overblown or overhyped" but yes its has become so damn political that people can't out of the own beliefs to at least do their part in helping society get back to normal because I can tell you this, ignoring will not work. I worked in research prior to medical school and viruses adapt quickly. This is what we are seeing with SARS and yes Omicron is a milder variant than Delta, but understand we LUCKED out this time. The next variant may be more virulent and just as transmittable than Delta, then what? What happens when time from infection to severe disease and possible death is 5-7 days and the healthcare system is drowning in patients and there are no beds or staff to treat the sick? I pray to God this never happens, but what if it does? Then what? Will we continue down this road of denial, listening to everyone but the medical community?

And please understand, I want this sh!t to go away just as much as the next man. I want to go back to life before Covid. I hate wearing a mask. But I have a daughter. I have an elderly father. I have a job that I've dedicated myself to doing because that's what the good Lord but me here to do. So, I'll do my part to help all mankind regardless of the ignorance, hate, politicalization and bias surrounding this pandemic.
Great points about how this has gone in a political direction rather than a rational & honest direction. Regardless of which side you're on, it's impossible to argue it hasn't become too political.

Keep up the good work! Much respect MD! RTR

The doctor told my wife if she had waiting just one more day. I wouldn't be here right now. The pneumonia had scar up on my right lung. I do a oxygen treatment once to twice a day. I have been home since May 12th. I'm still on oxygen and I still have to use a walker to get around. Just for me to go out the house I have a porter oxygen tank I have to carry with me. I would get one of those you can carry but man those thing are very high to buy. Our grandson have almost the same thing. His had the Coivd and his o2 was very low, He came within and hours before the doctor putting a ventilator. We both were on the same floor but he is doing a lot better. But right now I have been seeing a nurse that is a hospice nurse. We were told that hospice were better in handle this and I would get better benefit. I guess I should have put this in the Coivd thread.

Without brain waves it’s just a cluster of cells. I used to have the same views as you
Just a question. How can the heart beat without brain waves? There has to be a point in time that the cluster of cells means something. I don't know if it is so many weeks or brain waves. It is different for each baby. The rules right now say a baby can be aborted anytime. That is wrong on so many levels. It has to be a tough decision to do an abortion because it is controversial any way you look at it. It is my opinion and your belief will not convince me with any science that says if the heart is beating it is not a baby. Doesn't make sense.

I’m not interested in changing your opinion, we’re all entitled to our own opinion.

As for rules, 43 states have restrictions on abortion, so abortions can’t happen after a certain stage.

I would be fine with the rules most of Europe has for abortion. Pretty much impossible after so many months. But liberals who think we should be more like Europe on everything else won't accept that
