The mark of the beast is the number 666. None of these things have that number. Revelations is full of parables like that. I do not believe the electronic passport is the mark. I am just saying with each generation and the more we give up our freedom little by little we become more and more like sheep. You make a great point in that we have already given up our independence by having other vaccines to go to school, Tetanus, flu, polio, smallpox, etc., One more vaccine won't hurt and will probably go a long way to get beyond covid 19. I guess living a longer life is worth it in the end.
The most mobile should be vaccinated first.
I believe the images and events depicted in Revelations will come to pass. They were described in a manner using what people knew of in John's time. No way to really know if he was struggling to describe modern day or future technology. I read the Left Behind series some years back, which was pretty good and was cutting edge on technology of that time. In LaHaye's interpretation, the Antichrist's number was 216 (6x6x6).
In our lifetime - I'm 55 - we'll probably see some type of internalized communications device/access to information, and an internalized payments protocol using an implanted or biometric marker that will be billed as "failsafe". With a phone on our person, our newer vehicles acting as tracking devices, and plate readers springing up everywhere (my HOA in Cropwell just installed one), we already are being tracked, heavily. The marketing of our phone's movements has exploded, not just where we go, but where we hesitate as we go. It's being used for profit now, but in China (and elsewhere) it's being used for control and interdiction. IRS and other agencies use anonymized data. I'm sure other agencies do a heck of a lot more than that.
A little more on the HOA's plate reader. No one can access it unless it is in conjunction with a crime investigation, and then just to law enforcement. No nosy neighbors wondering why Mary was coming home at 1:30AM or why Joe only gets a visit from the lady in the red convertible when his wife is away. Well, they still wonder that, but they just won't know who is who - at least until Joe is shot by a jealous husband.

In football I've often said "we don't know what the offensive coordinator was seeing." Here, I don't know what John was seeing and I don't believe he did. I've grown into the opinion focusing on numbers like 666 is a waste of time and energy. I don't know what it means, there's no way to find out what it meant (what was seen,) so there's no epiphany, realization, or some spiritual awakening.
