I talked with three people in Bama gear and a lot of BYU fans who grew up in Alabama or served their church missions there. It was a lot of fun.

As for the flag, I brought it there just fine, but law enforcement was full of garbage. They let everyone behind the stage about 30 minutes before GameDay started, and I was there maybe five minutes before two cops came up to me saying, "you can't have poles here. you better take it down right now, and I don't want to have to ask you again".

I took it back to my car and didn't feel like getting it again when I came back to find they made the correct decision to just move the flag-wavers a few feet back from where we were originally.

I'm glad there were other Bama fans there representing. I saw a "Roll Tide Roll" sign by Desmond Howard, and I saw the script A signs as well.

Finally, a girl came up to me saying she wanted a picture of me with the Bama flag for her friend that's a big Tide fan, and as she was taking it BYU's mascot came up and put his arm around my shoulder. It's not likely, but I'd love to have that picture.

I feel like I pussed out on you guys, and combine that with me not saying anything to the two Vol fans who were at CGD, I take responsibility for the closer-than-necessary win today.
