šŸˆ College Football Rankings (week 11 release) -Should Michigan jump Notre Dame if they beat OSU?

Georgia and Auburn will likely be a very close game. I don't think that will help UGA's case any. UGA losing the SECCG would bar them from the top 4.

If chokelahoma or WV can get through the rest of their schedule with only 1 loss, they would likely get a shot over a 1-loss ND team due to strength of schedule. They would certainly jump a 2-loss Michigan team if that were the case. I don't think Ohio State can get back in unless they pound Michigan and ND loses badly to syracuse. I don't see either of those happening.

ND should be practicing for Syracuse already. I'm sure they didn't think that would be the case this year... lol

The real potential for mayhem is if Alabama loses to UGA after UGA wins the rest of their regular season games. UGA with one loss would have to get a look over the one loss Big-12 or Big-10 team... even after being so lackluster for most of the year. THat would ruffle some feathers. I don't think Alabama would drop out of the top 4 if the game was close with UGA.

Then you have:
1. Clemson
2. ND
3. Alabama
4. ???? I would guess Michigan at this point given their easy remaining schedule (Ohio State being the only game left really)
**** If Michigan falls to Ohio State in the last regular season game, Ohio state goes to the big 10 CG. Even winning out, I don't think Ohio State should get back in. In this scenario, the Big-12 champ gets in with one loss for sure. IMO.

any problems here? felt like calculus halfway through

I don't think this stat is that meaningful
You don't think the streak of wins against unranked opponents is that meaningful? Why?

Just as one point, Bama started this season with almost three times the number of consecutive wins versus unranked opponents. The team in second place, lost to an unranked opponent.

The closest team to Bama in that streak is a good 60 games back. Sixty.

I'm conflicted. I despise Ohio State but I despise a former boss of mine more (Michigan fan) I think I would want Bama to destroy Michigan in the playoffs but I know how much the bastard despises Ohio State. Either way, he will get an email from me rubbing his nose in it.

If UGA demolishes the rest of their schedule and we lose a squeaker to them I don't think so..

Also, if ND lost to syracuse or if a miracle happened and BC or SoCo beat Clemson, it makes it easier to stay in over other one loss teams.

don't forget.. clemson squeaked by syracuse so an orangemen win over ND is not far-fetched at all. If ND loses to syracuse, they are most certainly out.

things could get interesting

If Clemson and ND win out they are in. If GA Win SECCG which I don't think will happen they are in. If Mich wins out and wins Big 10 they are in.
I think the Bama fatigue would take over and get left out. Just a hypothetical scenario I think we spank GA.

No, I don't think the combined records of undefeated teams during the month of October means anything when compared to the combined records of teams that aren't undefeated.

Is that because we're scheduled to play in the semi? I actually think ND has a better offensive scheme than the Wolverines. But other than that, I don't see either being more of a struggle than the other.

Right now we are on schedule to play Michigan in the semi. My thoughts on that power run style and the scheme they run it would quickly come down to physicality and talent. You don't want to play Bama under those circumstances. That's LSU's problem every year in our rivalry. We figure that stuff out quickly and if we get 30 days to study their tendencies they are toast. Right Michigan State?

Teams are smart to throw multiple looks at us and spread it out through the air. The most productive teams against us and frankly, against every other elite defense out there, is the spread passing game. I hate when Danielson leaves that little point out. It's dang near impossible for EVERY elite defense to stop that stuff. Yep, it's the Big 12 way/Clemson/and now becoming the SEC West way. That's why I believe the Razorbacks enjoyed so much scoreboard success against us this season. They may be pleasantly surprised by their new coach in time.

The coolest thing is that nobody plays that game right now better than Tua and Alabama. I had serious doubts in the past that you can win it all with a commitment to the spread and chuck offense. Now, I'm starting to firmly believe, with this version, it's the best way to keep the NCs coming. That is an incredible, philosophical journey for me.

i think they ought to put ucf at #4 and let them see what they're really made of. they keep talking all this shit about how good they are and how they were the real national champions last year. well, i say let them find out.

Bama vs UCF in Sugar Bowl... would that ease the pain a minute’?

Only way that I would enjoy that game is as follows.

Bama comes into that game pissed off, like the Bama vs MSU Citrus Bowl.

Bama annihilates UCF so badly that Danny White's momma marches up to him postgame. She is so pissed that he incurred the wrath of Bama, wishing she had gotten an abortion instead, she slap him so hard she sends him back in time to 1989. He looks down to see he is in his old Cowboys uniform, he looks around and sees he is in Arrowhead Stadium, as he is trying to figure out what just happened, he gets blindsided by Derrick Thomas so violently, he is knocked into the future, the year 2025. Again, confused, he is in some kind of costume, smelling of rancid sweat, he peers out the eyeholes of his new uniform, looks down to see the exterior of the Goofy costume he is wearing at Disney World, just in time to see a young boy kick him in the shin.
