šŸˆ College Football Rankings (week 11 release) -Should Michigan jump Notre Dame if they beat OSU?

Kanell already making excuses instead of giving credit. Maybe a better question is based on the results this year who would you have put in that slot in their place honestly?

This is eye opening:

The four undefeated teams - Clemson, Bama, UCF & ND - are 16-0 since Oct. 1.

Everyone else who's been ranked is a combined 47-43 since Oct. 1, including a 33-26 mark vs. unranked teams.**

** (Bolded because a lot don't give much credence to Bama 80+ wins in a row over unranked opponents.)

2. Clemson (1)
3. Notre Dame

Michigan is top four's newest resident, behind Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame

Michigan has cracked the top four in the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time since Week 13 in 2016.

The top three -- No.1 Alabama, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Notre Dame -- continue to sit comfortably in the top four, though the Fighting Irish moved up one spot in this week's rankings, which were released Tuesday night.

The Wolverines resoundingly defeated Big Ten rival No. 20 Penn State last week to move from No. 5 to No. 4. LSU stumbled from No. 3 to No. 7 after being shut out at home against the dominant Crimson Tide.

"Their defense is extremely strong,'' selection committee chairman Rob Mullens said of LSU still being ranked No. 7 despite having two losses. "Their two losses come against No. 1 Alabama, on the road to Florida.''

According to ESPN's Football Power Index, there is just a 9 percent chance that the top four teams in the CFP rankings will all win out.

Georgia continues to wait patiently just outside the top four, having moved up from No. 6 to No. 5. The Bulldogs clinched the SEC East crown after defeating No. 11 Kentucky on Saturday, and they will face Alabama in the conference championship game.

The stakes continue to be high in the Big Ten, with No. 10 Ohio State set for a Saturday showdown at No. 18 Michigan State. The Buckeyes will host Michigan in the regular-season finale Nov. 24.

No. 21 Iowa is the final Big Ten representative in the CFP Top 25 this week.

The Big 12 continues to be led by No. 6 Oklahoma, whose only loss this season was to No. 19 Texas. In the season finale, the Sooners will square off against West Virginia, which jumped from No. 13 to No. 9 this week. Iowa State is ranked No. 22.

The SEC again has a conference-high seven teams in the CFP rankings this week. It is newly represented by No. 24 Auburn after Texas A&Mdropped out this week. Florida has lost two straight, to Georgia and Missouri, but is still hanging in at No. 15. Mississippi State comes in at No. 16, with a matchup against Alabama set for Saturday.

No. 13 Syracuse, No. 14 NC State and No. 17 Boston College represent the ACC, with the Eagles set to host Clemson on Saturday.
No. 8 Washington State and No. 25 Washington are ranked for the Pac-12.

Still-perfect UCF stayed even at No. 12 after outlasting Temple 52-40 last week.

"Strong offense, struggling on defense,'' Mullens said of UCF.

Fresno State rounded out the Group of 5 teams in this week's rankings, coming in at No. 23.

Michigan steps into CFP's top 4; Bama still No. 1

I like these four. The only thing I can't decide is if I'd rather see another Notre Dame game or see Michigan in the semi's.

Are looking at Bama vs Notre Dame because Michigan wins a conference title or is it Bama vs Michigan because the committee goes back to the head to head win?

With these four, it's really the only question.

The Big 12 is ... a mess?

ISU beat WVU who beat TX who beat OU who beat ISU who still plays TX who lost to OSU who hosts WVU before OU travels to WVU after playing OSU...

...and playing right out of the playoffs.

And thanks to their new conference championship game, there could be a repeat game with a split and finish off playoff hopes.

Did you see Brian Kelly's interview during the Game Day broadcast Saturday morning? He wants nothing to do with Bama again. At least he had the decency to make it very clear that Bama doesn't cheat. It was a...well-scripted interview.

But these guys are the only one to have a true Championship game! Because each play each other and then the Championship game!

Ok is at WVU....and then conference title game in dallas....if split.ummm
Bama take care of regular season...even lose CGame...probably be in...
Ohio state beats Michigan....its at osu....could it be Bama, UGA, and Lsu in playoffs? Kidding of course... but currently 1, 5, and 7?
Crazy CF novembers. So much shit happens

I don't think this stat is that meaningful. Current undefeated teams remain, well, undefeated. It's apparent that the teams who have moved into the top 5 or 6 have been winning, and those who have dropped back have done so because they lost. It would be just as easy to say the top 6 teams this week are 51-3 for the year (.944), while the rest of the top 25 are just 128-41 (.757) for the year. More losses occur in the heart of conference schedules, many times to unranked teams, just like every season. Shakeup time.
