This isn't big news or anything, but if guys like Malzahn, Richt, Butch Jones, Mason, Sumlin, Mark Stoops, and Bielema hang on, and I suspect all* of them will, then it could be absolute carnage in the SEC coaching ranks a little over a year from now...

*Wouldn't shock me to see a couple of them, Sumlin for 1, leave after this season and get out of what is a bad situation.

I am putting in for the Hawaii job, just wondering if anyone would like to come along and be an assistant coach? I think all of us could stand a 1-9-0-10 season on the island for $500,000 each. I am willing to take a cut in pay so my assistants will have a decent wage. :headscratch:
I wouldn't mind it at all. I could be your assistant the one that stand behind you, just to make shore you don't trip over that cord line. ;)

Like you, I can't see any of these guys getting canned. Although, I do think Malzahn and Richt could very well be feeling A LOT of heat on the seat.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Sumlin entertains offers.

Malzahn is safe. Butch Jones is safe (remember what he started with). Richt's job will depend on how he does the remainder of the year. Sumlin is borderline. Stoops is safe. Bielema, I think, has one more year. Mason, IMO, is gone.

According to a Jawja fan here at work, Richt is probably safe this year. His contract is so loaded that they'll probably have to hang onto him another year at least. She said outside of the Athens crowd, most of Georgia doesn't care, not with both the Braves and the Falcons. She's been here for a few years and still trying to figure out what makes the rest of us tick. :)

Basically what I've heard from family that live over there and have carried Richt's water for years. They think it would be unseemly to fire him this year not to mention the money it would cost them. There is talk of a "mutual agreed upon parting" if the right offer cam along for MR buuut it would take So Cal type money for MR to make that decision.

Hey, I'll throw my hat in the ring for an assistant. I used to coach LBs (middle school) and DBs. (high school and middle school)
Hawaii would be a fun stop for a while.
