"My fourth year of being the defensive coordinator here at Alabama with Coach (Nick) Saban. I'm real excited about this group. You ask why? Because we've got a lot of good leaders. This is really the first complete group that we recruited here at Alabama. From top to bottom, on offense and defense, they're kind of all our kids that you have a relationship with, that you recruited. You went in their homes.
"I'm real excited about these guys, because they've got a good attitude, and they're excited. They're fun to coach. There's a lot of great competition going on out there at a lot of positions. We're trying to create depth through camp. I think this is the first time that I've talked to the media so soon. We've only had two practices. Both of the practices have been in shorts. As you well know, football is not a game of shorts. It's hard to measure a lot of things until we start pads popping and doing some things out there that should start today.
