I bet the pee wee teams are lining up saying "We Want Bama" after last night. Seriously, what is the problem on the fumbles. Away from the body usually fighting for yards? Weakness? It seems like we have more fumbles than in previous years.

Lacy put on the ground some early in his career but not when he was the number one back. It's scary particularly in the red zone. Concentration, focus. I hope this ends it. If it doesn't it will end the title chances.

We've put it on the ground nine times this season losing six.

Last year we put it on the ground 24 times and lost 12.

In 2011 we only lost the ball four times after dropping it 12.

2010: 21 to 10. 2009: 16 to 7.

I think what seems out if whack, is how many times our RB's are dropping the ball. I don't know how many of the fumbles in the last years were by our feature RB's but I sure don't remember Mark, Trent, or Eddie losing that many.

We lost half that number last night alone. Compared to 2012 it doesn't seem so bad. To 2011? Geesh... Part of the problem may be how many times backs have fumbled close to the end zone this year. How many last year were the backups or Yeldon himself? Maybe it's these two guys in particular this year? Good stats Terry.

One other thing to add: This season isn't over yet... We might reach some of those numbers yet. Okay, one other note: Last year almost seems out of place that the Tide won the title and had 12 lost fumbles. 2010 Alabama had three losses, so those numbers might be indicative.

losing 6 of 9 sounds THAT much worse than 4 of 12 to you, really?

I'd have to dig for awhile to tell you how the numbers broke down last season.

This year only Drake and Yeldon have fumbled.

You're hitting the nail on the head in my opinion. It's not a case of us fumbling a lot more, it's when (or where, same thing really) those fumbles have occurred.

Before the LSU game I had one of their fans telling me about our fumbling woes...this with them having almost 2X the number going into that game. That's LSU losing twice as many.

What were they thinking about? I guarantee you it was Yeldon's fumbles against LSU last season.

Yeldon had three fumbles last year, one pretty costly one against A and M. Last year with Bama leading 14-10 late in the third quarter against LSU, Yeldon fumbled on the ten and instead of being down eleven the Tigers drove to score and take the lead.

As a whole, Alabama's limited the impact after turnovers this season. Opponents have scores on 4 of 11 Tide mistakes with two touchdowns and two field goals.
