It's risk-reward. Last year it cost the conference, this year it was a benefit.

It hurt them this year too... they were just not on the bubble so it didn't drop them out. Without a Conference game, if a Big12 team is on the bubble (4-6) then they are hoping to get it and not playing to get in. If they had been 4th coming into this ranking, my guess is they would have dropped out of the top 4...

I really like this matchup. And if...IF...Bama is going to lose to anyone, I would rather it be MSU. I, at least, of all the BIG10 teams, respect MSU. I expect a really competitive game. As far as the open letter to the "Committee" goes, from the OSU fan, should MSU beat Bama, maybe he's right. And if MSU doesn't beat Bama, I expect an open letter of apology to the 'Committee, the SEC, and most especially, to the University of Alabama Crimson Tide'.

I agree. I thought it was somewhat humorous the reaction, but I highly doubt any team in the Top 4 is "scared" of another team. Most likely the reaction was just not the ideal one for them and they know it. But like you say, Dantonio is a great coach and will have them prepared. This is a MUCH better Mich St team than the one we played in 2010.
