🏈 CB Geno Smith arrested for DUI last night

"Serious time." Another one of those sports phrases that really doesn't have a definition.

Geno played in every game last season except LSU: started against UGA and WCU (likely because we started in nickel.)

37, here's another one of those things to consider on Geno.

It's my understanding there is a different legal amount of alcohol for under age vs over 21. If it is as low as they say, you'd hit that level in a beer or two.

No clue on the details of all of this...still believe it's a mandatory suspension.

Simply an ID - 10 - T move on Geno's part. :shake:
If these guys can't keep focused this close to the season, maybe ... I'm gonna say it... maybe they should be somewhere else.
These kids have to realize there are EXTREMELY HARSH penalties to this kind of behavior, and maybe it will help them to think twice.
Roll Tide anyway!!!

By serious time, I mean playing in situations where hes with the 1s going against the 1s on the other team whether nickel or not. I don't recall him seeing that kind of action until Fulton went down against A&M.

The underage limit definitely changes thing for me a bit, and if thats the case than hopefully Saban takes it into account.

I knew what you meant...just musing on the colloquialism.

Just things to consider before jumping off the cliff and calling a kid an "idiot," etc.

Just FYI, I dont believe I called him a idiot. I did say it was a stupid thing to do... but you're right jumping to conclusions is definitely a mistake especially if it ends up being what some are suggesting now.

Terry P was probably referring to Mahout. Just an observation. =)

I wasn't referring to anyone, specifically. I'm just looking at the few details we have about this story and based on those it's not a stretch to assume he was having a hard time that evening.

It was a dumb move on his part to say the least. As it was mentioned earlier, he may have been trying to drown his sorrows over the loss of an old friend. I did the same thing for about 6 months after my grandmother died my junior year there at UA. I was drinking 6 nights a week! I never got pulled over but there were PLENTY of opportunities for it to happen. I heard on the radio last night how some talking heads were trying to compare his situation with the situation of the kid at Auburn that got kicked off for a pot arrest. I say apples to oranges because that kid had missed extensive time for "personal issues" in the Spring whereas Geno hadn't been in any trouble to our knowledge.

Not just that, some where even tying into the idiots that robbed students on campus. One certain individual is trying to stir things up suggesting Saban is losing control.

He was but he wasnt with the corners that Saban works with, he worked with walk ons and younger players. When they went to nickel drills he watched as Jarrick Williams played at star.

Yes, that's what I was told. Just doing to the group thing.

Do you know if Jabriel Washington and/or Bradley Sylve was getting any work with Saban's group?

Just from what I've seen in the few practice videos and what they showed when ESPN was allowed to film Sylve was in Saban's group, don't recall seeing Washington.
