Yeah, it definiteily stands to reason that the Newtons ONLY asked money from Mississippi State. In the same link above Bob Stoops says everything was fine while OU was recruiting him. Auburn asked for, and received, a review of this situation by the NCAA in July and they cleared Newton to play. If State were asked for money, why were they continuing to recruit him until the day he signed with Auburn? Seems odd, eh? They were asked to pay, refused to comply but then continued to recruit him?
I posted this in the other thread--I'm done discussing this. Until there is an article that does not contain the words "unnamed source" or "allegedly" none of this has any weight. Rememeber how quickly the NCAA deemed Darues, all of UNC and AJ Greene ineligible. They've known about this since July. The information is just now making it to the media. That's why it is news. Auburn, the SEC and the NCAA have known about this since July.
By the way, Cameron Newton rides a scooter around campus. Certainly the ride of choice of a kid that just received a 6 figure payment for his salary, eh?
Enjoy your moment. Have fun piling on the the thrashing of a 22 year old athlete
