Funnily enough, they released practice footage from today. Watched it, then they got to the ILB's block shedding drill. Love this drill by the way, they'll have the linebacker set up presnap as he usually would be, about 4-5 yards back from the 4i technique DE. They're usually lined up to the inside of the DE's barring what the offense runs, or if the defense decides to stunt their D-line. Then they'll take their read step, scrape downhill while keeping their eyes up and their hips and shoulders square while maintaining a low base, shoot their hands inside violently and use their hips to generate that power and knock back when taking on a block, should still have their eyes up and arms extended after stacking the blocker, see where the ball carrier is going, shedd off the block and finish on the balls carrier by hitting him with your inside shoulder and wrapping him up for the tackle. All those things is why I love this drill..... know what I don't love? Watching Lawson and Hill-Green false step. One of the most basic things a Linebacker can do fundamentally, and they're still doing it. That shit is infuriating. Just skip to the ILB drill and you'll see it.
