I had Galaxy phones until the Google Pixel came out. I'm on my third one. I this particular phone is a lemon, but I'll upgrade to another when it's time.

Everyone tells me I should get an iPhone. Nah, I'll pass. Same noise as...

I've been with the iphone since the beginning so I don't know anything different. Last phone I had that wasn't an iphone was the one below...

I moved from a Blackberry to iphone about eight years ago - quite the culture shock - when our agency determined Apple had incorporated enough security capabilities into it. The browser capability was the biggest upgrade for me, with access to our systems, both in core operations and time & attendance. I could sign off on things within our system, and could approve leave requests, time sheets and the like. Then, about three years ago - after an ios "upgrade" - our IT folks determined it no longer had adequate security, and it became a phone, a camera, and a brick. I was glad to turn that thing in.

Happy with my civilian iphone. We pay up with Verizon, but I'm going to stay with them for a while given the likelihood of international travel.

Now that's old school.
My very first cell phone was the old Motorola Startac

I even had a "dock" in my car that you could put it in to go "hands free". You still had to dial the number manually, but then you could sit it in the dock and talk. It had an integrated speaker so you could hear the other person. The speaker really sucked, though. So if your car was loud or the windows were down, you could barely hear it.
