| FTBL Calling All Pessimists

Everyone, I feel like I have made enemies while not even trying to make enemies. I know how to make enemies online, trust me. I wasn't doing that.

Actually, honestly, I wasn't even thinking of anyone on this board. I was thinking of some real life people around town that I know, and lots of posters on other boards.

You have all seen their types online and probably know some in the real world.

They are downers, always bringing up the negative and seemingly loving every last second of it. Many are not even 'Bama fans but only pretend to be and gleefully destroy message boards with the dissension they create.

Relax Lenny, and everyone else that is becoming defensive. It wasn't about you. I haven't seen you post enough to even form an opinion on you, Lenny.

I know you have fun ridiculing my statement that the Ole Miss game was a crucial and vital game for Alabama to determine if they were genuine or not.

As far as being able to determine if you despise Alabama or not, I have no idea.

THATS CRAP!!! YOU WERE TOTALLY TALKING ABOUT ME.. I EVEN SAW YOU MENTION MY NAME 4 TIMES!!!!

FINE BE THAT WAY!!! I REPPED YOU FOR IT!!!!

I know I'm late to the party, but Altie, preach on brother. And I bet I know one of the posters from another board that you're thinking of...a self-proclaimed "realist" who attacked anyone who had the slightest bit of optimism.

Thanks, BamaCore. Yep, you know one of them and it is who you are thinking of. There are others that were even more skilled at their game of deception and condescension than "the realist" was though.

Lots of 'em were around and poof, they have all seemed to disappear for some reason. It isn't fun for them any longer.

Curious to your verdict from the Ole Miss game?

Curious of my verdict for the Ole Miss game? Okay, I will tell you.

I still feel the same. I feel that Ole Miss was a crucial test for Alabama at a crucial point in the season.

We were still undefeated and were facing a very dangerous team that wasn't getting much hype. Not only that, it was a Houston Nutt coached team and they never quit fighting.

Would the Tide step up and win one that could very easily get away from them? Would the players pull it out one way or the other and just put a W on the books?

Ole Miss is probably more scrappy and an overall better football team than about 8 of our opponents this year, including Clemson and Tennessee.

So many times over the years Alabama has done reasonably well and then lost one that they shouldn't.

I still contend that the Ole Miss game was a bellwether moment in the progression of the team. They overcame a glitch that has bitten them in the past and did what was required to get the job done.

I feel like if we lose now it is because we got outplayed and honestly get beaten by a better team. It won't be because they didn't do what they were supposed to do and finish.

With the Ole Miss game, they have proven that they will do what it takes and give it their all.

To an extent the Kentucky game was a test of that nature. We played an opponent that was clearly inferior to us physically, made what seemed like a season's worth of mistakes, missed opportunities to put the game out of reach, yet still found just enough to win. Last year's group played similarly against La. Monroe and bit the big one.

Right, Joe. That is one of the factors that, to me, made the Ole Miss game even more important. It was, in a way, a test of their integrity, of their grit.

They had just had a serious test, in Kentucky. Would they pull out another one by the skin of their teeth? Luckily, they did. Just enough is good enough and many championship teams do just enough but always win.

What happened to "OWNING" people Atlie?

Youre tripping over the web you spun

How about trying to be a bit more intelligible when posting, that would help.

If you want me to address some grievance you have, you must have enough clarity when communicating to allow someone to know what you are talking about.

Thanks, Lenny.

DO YOU THINK WE "OWNED" OLE MISS?

That was what you were looking for was it not? I mean that was the biggest game of the season after all......I know Ill look back at 2008 and say Damn what a statement that Ole Miss game was!

Oh, I get it, Lenny. You are wishing for it to be understood that I said something about owning Ole Miss.

Of course, I never said that, but you wish to go fantasy land on me and put the perception out there that I said that and imply that I said that.

I would have to give this effort you have made to attribute words to me a grade of:

Failure.

Thanks and do play again.

I think if you say bama isnt going to win a certain game and you wear the colors of the gods...Personally I think your a closet barner!

Heres a few of your words from before that game

Can they finally play consistently? That is one of the last major hurdles 'Bama has to overcome before they can legitimately start to flex their muscles.

The players need to get it together like they all want to and click on Ole Miss and not let up 'till we start putting in 3rd string players.

If 'Bama can come out and put another shocker on a team, a real and verified drubbing, that will send the statement. A statement meant to say that 'Bama will see you soon at the SEC Champ game.

From these words......Sabans biggest statement game in his career has to be considered a failure :?

Can a realist be considered a pessimist? I consider myself to be a pragmatic kind of guy that looks on the bright side of things...but not so much that people think I'm an optimistic imbecile. Am I one of those people you railed at as a pessimistic-not-a-real-Bama-fan fan?

This is a funny thread.

LOL. Well, we still won. If you consider the game a failure, more power to you.

Considering I have never seen you post, have never communicated with you, and don't even recognize your username, I would say you weren't anyone I was referencing.

Again, read the first line in the original post.

The above are your words. Based on that criteria an objective answer would be failure.

I noted that an ugly win or a blowout would = the same thing in the grand scheme. ( I guess you are now agreeing)
