I never understood why someone would bother with all of that. Just extremely pointless.

I recall the whole fights and such on the Woolly. I never really got involved.

Sure, but that is really all WoollyAl was about. It was created basically to attempt to be the toughest, meanest, most irreverent, hard-core, anything goes Bama board. Cursing, nudity, personal attacks, threats of violence, etc... were the norm and accepted as a day to day occurrence.

It was pointless but, that was the point. WoollyAl is where the misfits came to roost and talk Alabama football for a second or two and then attack, slander, hate, jump on others, and just generally act like total fools. And, frankly, it was fun and everyone loved that type of stuff.

Of course, that was while BamaChine was running the show. After he gave up on the board, things got straight-laced all the sudden and people had to be careful about what they said and how they said it and to whom they said it to.

Personally, I don't think Chine ever really cared for me but, he never banned me either. He never banned anyone that didn't flood the board with gay porn or stuff like that. In fact, he was even in on schemes to create fake user-names for regs there and let them troll the board as women who would elicit nude photos of other members there.. Things like that were normal and I just tried my best to fit in and hold my own.

I never participated in any of the seedier types of things like I just mentioned but, sure, I trolled right along with the rest of them. Perhaps I trolled too good and made enemies but, I never got super personal and never tried to track anyone or shame them in real life or anything like that. I never really got consumed, in real life, like many there seemed to do.

I really don't know why so many posters seem to have negative views of me but, that is message-board life. Geez, look at all the I's in this response, what is wrong with me?

I've never had a problem with CAD and have enjoyed some of his posts. He's a definitely a Bama fan, and enjoys needling Auburn and Tennessee. Many of his posts are amusing.

I really don't even understand how he gets under some people's skins so much. Some don't like how he can be long-winded, but there's no need to read his posts if that's you. There's no reason to get into these massive pissing contests unless you enjoy them. He enjoys them, but if you don't, don't get involved with them.

Don't remember the guy, but from reading the posts, he sounds like dd4bama from the old wooly days.

I was E-Hired by moderators, not real money just several private requests, to antagonize DD on BamaMag and make him crack and do enough on the main board to get himself banned. There were quite a few moderators there that were of the opinion that he didn't ever do enough to get banned, even though he really was a horrible poster that virtually never had anything good to say about Alabama. So, it was moderator against moderator.

While doing this, I had to not violate any Scout guidelines my ownself, as I was warned that I would be on my own and could likely get banned.

I tipped the scale and pecked at his veneer over the course of about a week and he finally snapped, went overboard, and was banned. The other mods, at that point, had no legs to stand on and had to agree to his banning. .

After that, I believe, is when he headed over to TideSports and absolutely owned that board and it's posters for years.

I've been involved in a lot of message board intrigue over the years but I've always, always been a stalwart Bama fan. No one can honestly say that my so called trolling was ever at the expense of the Tide, like so many other true trolls who infiltrate Bama boards just to belittle Alabama fans in their smug and snarky way.

In fact, I was always the polar opposite of these types and they could never really stand me because they didn't know how to deal with me. I was a iron rod that they couldn't figure out how to remove from their spokes so they could continue on with their trolling.

Hmm, well, maybe I'm getting mixed up. I remember someone used to start a thread every Arkansas week that would go through the day by day process of thinking of an average Arkansas fan. It was great stuff. The guy loathed anything Arkansas related.

No, that wasn't me. I actually don't remember that series of threads, maybe I was gone by then.

I do remember a poster that had an abnormal hatred of Missouri though and went berserk when they entered the conference. He would go on and on, in what were white knuckled, steely-eyed, slobbering fits of mania.

Not many of us could really understand his seemingly palpable and searing hatred of Missouri and thought he was off his rocker when discussing them.

But, now we know, now we know. He was a visionary and well ahead of any of us in his predictions about Missouri.

OK, I'll offer my thoughts, although I am 100% sure it will not be a well-received opinion, and most of you don't know me from Adam, although I've been around several forums for quite a long time - I just don't post often.

Altie is one of the wittiest posters I have seen on Alabama forums... he has a polarizing personality much like Kingpin did back on Tidesports. He is entertaining. He is intelligent (I suspect extremely so). He enjoys rustling people's jimmies, and he's quite good at it. He loves attention. He holds grudges.

He adds life and interest to an otherwise flat landscape of like-minded, well-mannered Alabama supporters. I think he adds an interesting dynamic, and he can be extremely funny if you understand his motivations.

Any forum is more interesting with him than without. He encourages discussion, via a multitude of channels. I was thrilled to see him here. Not because I love everything he says (a lot of times I can only shake my head and laugh), but because I know I will be entertained.

I'm with you Vertical. Dont post much but Altie has been one of my fav's over the years.
