| FTBL Bye Week- Say One Good Thing About The State Of Alabama (cannot be anything UA or Crimson Tide)

Here in south alabama you may get all 4 seasons in the same week. I don't miss the heat and humidity here but it was a great place to grow up.

She's not really enjoying this 86 degree fall weather.
I'm not a fan of this time of the year, here. It's in the high 40's in the morning...mid 80's in the afternoon...and then back down again. It redefines layering clothing.

Easily the AL lake I’ve spent the most time at. 2nd really isn’t even close, but it would be Martin followed by Guntersville. Lake Tuscaloosa isn’t in the same league as any of them, sadly.
I grew up fishing Smith, easily the hardest damn lake in the world when it comes to fishing for largemouth and spots! Guntersville was number 2 with Logan Martin being my top 3 most fished lakes.

Muscle Shoals Music.

I have family in Sheffield too, just skip over MS. I had a great uncle than ran the hotel in downtown Sheffield. He always gave me silver dollars. Anyway, he was very tight lipped at who stayed at the hotel while getting music recorded. But many, many, many years later, he would wink back at me when I gave a few names. To say the least he was a popular guy during the glory das of MSM.

Also, my great-Great Grandfather was the Sherrif (Sherrif Wright) of Sheffield during the depression & while TVA was getting set up. Very interesting time there in North Alabama especially.

Was it the Grant Hotel across from the railroad tracks? I was back home this past summer and noticed that hotel building had been razed. Sheffield has struggled the last 35-40 years, they could really use a boost.

Lifelong Bama resident. I love living here. It’s a beautiful state with so many different environments. You want a beach? Orange beach has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Mountains? Northeast Alabama is absolutely gorgeous. You like being on the lake? Pick one. We’ve got dozens of beautiful lakes. The central plains and northwest area have beautiful farmland and pastures. We even have a swamp area if you enjoy playing in the swamp. Alabama is just a beautiful state.
Spot on.

Tremendous diversity in terrain, temperate zones, plant and animal life, bodies of water, land use, rural and city culture/history, it's all here. We are blessed to have such a wonderful state.

That's it. Operated by my Uncle Grant Azbell & his sister (my grandmother). Place really feel into disrepair as he aged. Burned down over 10 years ago.

Sheffield is really pretty rough now.

It's always my home. I grew up in Huntsville in the 60s and 70s.. The space & rocket center was there back then. although it was not anything like now. Still had the Saturn V rocket standing outside then. covered a lot of miles between Huntsville and the Anniston/Oxford area visiting family. It was a great place to grow up. Excellent memories.
