Being a Yankee's fan I was watching the game and some of these younger refs screw it up by the numbers. Dude was having a bad night calling balls and strikes. As you can see in the video, Brett is tapping his bat on the ceiling of the dugout. Not sure how annoying that is or how loud, but it could have easily gotten the umps attention on him specifically. The umps biggest mistake was not looking over at the Yankee's bench and giving at least a warning. That's the universal protocol for these guys. Umps who come down with a bad case of rabbits ears should get a few days off by the league, same as major screw-ups by the players and managers.
