🏈 Bowl games thread

I only caught the second half of the Rose, but I'm left with little doubt it's the best Rose Bowl game I've seen in...my life? Hands down beats the TX vs USC game of '05 by a landslide!

Freakin' confidence pool took a HUGE shot last night...looks like that note is down the drain.

IDK man that 05 Rose Bowl was pretty great but yeah this one was really great, a throw back really with the physicality. That 4th and 1 stop for MSU at the end was just awesome.

#12 Clemson defeats #7 Ohio State, 40-35 in a close Orange Bowl. Sammy Watkins was insane. And Clemson's Martavis Bryant had this CRAZY juggle catch in the endzone. Game was close near the end, with Boyd being intercepted on a late drive, but Miller was intercepted two plays later and it sealed the deal for the Tigers.

This is Clemson's first BCS bowl victory.

#8 Mizzou defeats #13 Oklahoma State, 41-31, in a close Cotton Bowl. OSU's QB Clint Chelf had a pretty good game with 342 yards. On a last minute drive to try and tie the game, Missouri's Michael Sam sacked Chelf, Shane Ray forced a fumble and recovered it and took it to the house 73 yards for a game-winning TD, capping off a 24 point 4th quarter for the Tigers. Another victory for the SEC.

Two Tiger victories.

Is Clemson the first South Carolina team to win a BCS bowl? Just saw that tidbit floating around.

South Carolina has never been to a BCS bowl. The highest "ranked" bowl they've received an invitation to was the Cap One in 2011.

Clemson finishes the BCS era with a 1-1 record in BCS bowl games.

(If I were to bet, I'd say the state of South Carolina has had teams in the ATL more than any other state in the SE.)

BTW, if you didn't notice... (sort of fitting with a group here talking about how we didn't have a good team or had a bad year...)

UofSC, despite not being in a BCS bowl, beat two BCS bowl winners in UCF and Clemson and the Cotton Bowl winner with Mizzou.

That asst coach that left us to be the defensive coordinator at FSU seems to have done a really good job in his first year. They have the #1 scoring D and are up there in a lot of categories. Now they didn't play a bunch of powerhouses but still, better then they were last year. Now the Barn may shred them...

Missing a good game so far for those of you not watching.

FSU DE Mario Edwards Jr played where I live before his dad moved him to Denton Ryan (tried to get a gig at the HS as the DC and was told no), so he moved to a place that would let him be the DC - aka, Denton Ryan. We have alot of pro and ex-pro athletes living here. A few big named ones, one of them is at the game on the FSU sideline (aka, Deion Sanders).
