šŸˆ Blake Barnett is gone

Might be some incentive to stay near the water.

No idea about the timing.. But I do know this day in age, these kids almost always have their next move lined up when they leave. Parents, old coaches, handlers, etc. take care of all of that before hand.

I agree with Birdman, it's a real sorry move in regards to his teammates. Ultimately he has a job, though not the job he wanted, and if Hurts was to get injured the season would be on his shoulders. Not like starting QB's don't go down... Especially a running QB like Jalen. When you consider that he literally cannot play anywhere this season and that year of eligibility is lost, he gains nothing by leaving now. I'm normally on the side of the kid transferring but in this case its hard to justify.

Bummer! Don't know any details yet but it sure make him look like a spoiled brat who didn't get his way so he leaves and goes home. Terrible way to treat his teammates and what a waste of an opportunity to learn from / play for some of the best coaches anywhere.

Just read Saban's comments and it doesn't sound final. It sounds like Blake told Saban he wanted to leave, Saban listened to his concerns, and Saban is giving him time to make a final decision.

Don't jump on Blake's sh*t yet.

The only way he gets meaningful playing time at Alabama is through injury. That opportunity might be even more sparse next season.

I'm sure Blake dreams of playing in the NFL someday. Leaving is his best option.

Now the timing? What kind of teammate leaves mid-season?

Can't fault the kid, he can't base his future on another players health. If he couldn't beat Jalen out this year, his chances of ever doing it where slim to none.... best wishes to him wherever he lands.

If Blake isn't committed to the team, it's probably best he goes elsewhere.

If I were on the team, I wouldn't want a guy half-assing practice, film room, relationships, etc. He needs to be ready if he gets the call to play.

That being said, I'm not on the team, I'm just a fan. Best of luck to Blake, now get the hell outta here so Bateman/Cornwell can get the reps they need to be the backup.

Blake has unusual delivery, but more of a rope throw than Jalen. Seems to be more of a pocket passer (may not fit the new O)
Need someone to help me with why now? seems if he finished the year and transfered in Jan 17 it would be better? He gets more practive time, and hopefully more experience. If Jalen gets hurts (remember the sack against Olemissy), he is the man. But, can't fault him for wanting to be closer to the lady and wanting to start. Not sure if any back up qb has ever made it to the league?

Best of luck BB8... keep getting better and hope to see you on the gridiron next year.
