šŸˆ Blake Barnett is gone

Bummer! Don't know any details yet but it sure make him look like a spoiled brat who didn't get his way so he leaves and goes home. Terrible way to treat his teammates and what a waste of an opportunity to learn from / play for some of the best coaches anywhere.
Delete him from the record too. If he does this to his teammates right now, just think what he will do with the other ones!

Wish him all the best. He'll make a good starting QB somewhere.
His life doesn't revolve around Alabama's football program. He probably wants to move back to Cali with his girlfriend and surf, then become a starting QB at a good academic school like Stanford or USC or something. If you're not going to the NFL you might as well get a more prestigious degree.

Blake has unusual delivery, but more of a rope throw than Jalen. Seems to be more of a pocket passer (may not fit the new O)
Need someone to help me with why now? seems if he finished the year and transfered in Jan 17 it would be better? He gets more practive time, and hopefully more experience. If Jalen gets hurts (remember the sack against Olemissy), he is the man. But, can't fault him for wanting to be closer to the lady and wanting to start. Not sure if any back up qb has ever made it to the league?

Best of luck BB8... keep getting better and hope to see you on the gridiron next year.

Matt Cassel, career backup at USCw, signed a major deal with KC a few years ago after backing up Brady in NE a few years ago. Brady went down with a knee injury, Cassel played in his place and did a good enough job that the Chiefs signed him as their starter for a few years.

Not sure if he's even playing now. This was 5 or more years ago.

Here what the Alabama players are saying!

So what would happen if Hurts gets hurt? What happens if Deshaun Watson goes down? How about Chad Kelly or Lamar Jackson, maybe Trevor Knight? They will not be as good and the chances of them having as successful a season are remote and extremely unlikely they would win a NC this season without them. So it goes with Bama and frankly, I think that's true whether the Barnett I saw on the field against Kent St this past Saturday stayed or not.

Disappointed in who? I havent seen anyone on here wishing death on him. Save the disappointment for a guy that just bailed on his teammates 4 games into the season.
OK, I'm disappointed in you. :naughtydevil:

In all seriousness, I know I've mentioned it a few times here. His dad has been pushing for this a long time now. Hell, he wanted Blake to transfer last year.

I don't have any emotional reaction to this, at all. While the timing is odd, the decision isn't. I can't blame him. This very well be a case of the grass looking greener on the other side of the fence. But, he's looking to play.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass. Delete him from the record books. Hell J, it reminds me of that CrimsonCrazy guy bitching about Sims.

Happy for Blake, he was a Bama player, on a championship team, started against a classic program in a great venue (Jerry's world). He is one of the main reasons that Calvin Ripley came to Bama--was a great cheerleader and recruiter for us. His play could have only push Hurts to be a better player. I can only imagine his disappointment in not being 'the guy'. Figured he would transfer but thought it would be in Jan/Spring. We should all get behind him for what he has done. I wish him the best. Anyway that he gets to just sit the 1st 4 games of next year (a calendar year) if he goes the JUCO route?

Can't blame him (don't like the timing but c'est la vie)

Gotta look at it through his eyes and not through our crimson colored glasses.

He has to do what he feels is best for him (career, academics, family, etc.). I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision and it's certainly not one I would ever want to make ..
