Not too sure about this one yet. The original is classic but the story seemed pretty complete at the end of it. Any lingering questions needed no answer as they were more philosophical than literal. I think a sequel can ruin the original in this case by cheapening it.
I know of quite a few people (including myself) that's feels the same way. Where they could possibly go with the story that would be worthwhile is the big question for now.
Found a plot synopsis that leads me to believe it will take a big stinking dump on the original.
