🏈 Big news: Tim Williams to stay for senior year

Will top Alabama defensive player change his mind and declare for NFL Draft?

One of Alabama’s star players on defense is apparently having second thoughts about his decision to bypass the NFL and return to the Crimson Tide for next season.

Tim Williams is an outside linebacker for Alabama who is considered an elite pass-rushing specialist by NFL scouts.

On Saturday, Williams said he is “up in the air” about the declaring for the NFL Draft, but also added “right now I’m coming back,” per TuscaloosaNew.com’s Cecil Hurt.

A couple of weeks ago, Williams announced that he would return to Alabama for next season: “I love playing college football. The moments I’ve had here with my brothers, I feel like, you know, I have to cherish that while I’m here. If I have another year, I’m gonna take full advantage of that year.”

Pro Football Focus has listed Williams as the nation’s most productive pass rusher. He has been listed as a top 15 pick for this year’s NFL Draft by at least one mock draft.

Next season, Alabama’s defense will undergo changes as Jeremy Pruitt will take over as defensive coordinator, replacing Kirby Smart, who is headed to UGA as the new head coach.

Easy Tider, I agree. Pretty much Saban's M.O. is if you are first round pick, go get paid. If not, come back and improve your draft status. One that CNS always brings up is Mark Barron. Prime case of a senior year making you millions more. Only one I remember that kind of shocked everybody was Kareem Jackson. He got what most thought was lofty draft grades, but proved to be spot on.........hard to argue first round #20 pick.
