Best third baseman

Got a picture of Boggs hanging in my bonus room! :biggrin_blue:

One of my greatest baseball memories will always be a game I attended a Fenway. Greg Swindell of the Indians vs. Tom Bolton of the Red Sox. Swindell pitched 8 shut-out, two-hit innings. With two outs and the bases empty, nine-hitter Tony Pena took a pitch right down the middle on a 3-2 count, dropping into his catcher's stance just as the ball crossed the plate and it was called ball four. Boggs then belted a walk-off, two run homer into the right field bullpen. Probably the most thrilling baseball game I've ever been to.

Enough kidding around.

Next thread fellas.

There are so many players to choose from at this position. If you go with defense, I'd have to go with Brooks Robinson who manned that position with Balitmore forever. On the offensive side, I'd have to go with Mike Schmidt with the Phillies. Although he did not play the position a lot of years, Pete Rose would be my all-around player at 3rd. Chipper Jones also comes to mind but injuries mounted and he lost several seasons over the course of his career.
