Ask any PH in Africa what animals they’d least like to face in a gun situation and Bull Elephants are at the top or very near the top of their lists. Male lions and Bull Elephants flip back and forth and they’re cool mascot names too … certainly to us Bama fans the folks in Detroit. No one wants to be a Fighting Cape Buffalo or a Hippopotamus which are also near the top depending on the PH’s personal experiences. Not surprisingly, no one wants to play for the “idiots with a rifle” which the PH’s fear most overall … and by the way so do the predators and the game animals as well. So, poachers scare PH’s the most but what fan base wants to cheer for the poachers? UGA maybe? Their coach could have definitely earned that name early on.
