🏀 🏀 Sweet 16 - (2) Alabama hammers (6) BYU 113-88, Advances to Elite 8

No doubt Sears is going down as the best player in Alabama history. Not the most talented - and certainly frustrating at time - but man talk about a historic performance.

Wd used to beg for these days holy shit. Remember when we'd take 9 3s a game under Grant?

I know Philon is considered a late 1st round pick now instead of a lottery pick, read something recently or heard it on ESPN. Anyway, IMO, he could really use another season to improve his decision making, ball handling and shooting. Hate for him to come out early like a few of our other kids and not do well in the NBA. Pony up the NIL.

One question… WHY???? 😀
I'm in Bham doing my AT days and ended up at a watch party. Didn't want to be rude and on my phone. But you best believe I would have been melting about something (mainly the awful officiating in the 2nd half). But god oh mighty what a freaking game. What a run too.

Four out the last five years, Bama has made the S16. One Final Four run and back to back elite 8s now.

What a game, fellas. Excellent shooting from everywhere tonight. Best shooting performance in a long time and that was fun to watch! It seems like our guys like this court and rims, that’s a good sign.

Refs called a bunch of ticky-tack stuff on us, luckily that didn’t hurt us too much. Need to clean up the D some, bit as long as we’re hot from the arc, there’s no team that can stop us.

The 180° shift in how the game was called from half 1 to half 2 was weird and unnecessary. Thankfully, it didn’t impact Bama. There was a feeling there when Sears was called for that 3rd (phantom) foul and BYU was down 10 that maybe they’d go on a run while he was sitting. Instead, Bama stayed on the gas. As for the officials, we see games like some where there’s no whistles in 1 half and it’s whistle city in the 2nd. I don’t get it. Maybe word comes in to tell them to tighten things up for some reason? Whatever it is, it makes no sense.
