🏀 đźŹ€ SEC Men's Tournament: Tide falls in semi-finals to Florida

Florida is a good team, I think they could potentially end up in the final 4.

As for bama, geez man. I think we get bounced in the second round.
Depends on the draw IMO. We could be cooked if we pull a Gonzaga in the second round. That said, no one expected us to make last season's run. I wouldn't doubt Oats. He's had a lot of success in the tournament.

I think there's a lot of similarities in Oats and Golden in how they approach the game. Just seems like Florida has way better bigs and lengthier guards to be more disruptive. Also Florida executes at a way higher level around the rim than us (based on the eye test).

UF is one of the 2 best teams overall, IMO. They are also playing their best ball going into the tournament, which is what you hope for. I haven't looked, but I'd imagine they are right there with Duke or maybe even best odds overall to win it all. If not, they can't be far off.

Bama's biggest issue right now is Nelson's status. Yes, UF clowned Bama twice in the last couple weeks. They did the same last year also. It really means nothing going into this tournament where the only way they'll meet again is in the final 4. You'll remember last year, it was the Gators getting an early flight home and Bama punching a Final Four ticket. But, maybe Bama does get bounced quickly... the floor is kinda low with them missing some key players. The positive side it, as we saw last year at this time, others can and have stepped up when needed. There's still a good bit to like about what Bama brings to the table... and it's also worth filing away, all the other teams have some degree of flaws in their cargo too (though UF and Duke's are pretty minuscule right now). Bama will be sitting on the 2 line, so they are better off than most.

Talked about things I wish Oats would tweak - watching Florida and they play damn near perfect in transition both ways. Oats wants us to play at light speed but I never think we do efficiently. But both ways man, Golden knows what buttons to push to get his guys to bring it for 40. It's honestly impressive.

Starts in how they practice, and the emphasis put on it.

I think Bama is a top 4ish team when we are right. Playing out of control and shooting threes just to shot em doesn’t make for a good winning combination.

When we are on, we can beat anyone in the country. When we are off, it feels like we can’t beat the sec worst.
