🏈 Based on the Bama fans I know, a lot are Braves fans. (Braves vs Dodgers)

I guess I was a semi fan of the Braves! I mean, if you can be a fan of a losing team! When every Sunday the America Team was on TBS. This would be between 1975-1978. Yes old Teddy was still the owner of both. But those fans would be the one I feel sorry for! Watching your team lose 13 games in a row. Not having a winning team till the 1980's. Dale /Bob help them with that.

So funny to read reasons why people don't like teams.

Ted Turner hasn't had anything to do with the Braves since 1996.

I'm a big Braves fan and I am fortunate enough to get to attend some games each year. It was the first MLB team I ever got to see in person when we moved from Birmingham to Atlanta. The Dale Murphy/ Bob Horner era.

I am a University of Alabama Alumni and I am also a veteran. I understand the whole Jane Fonda thing, but like I said initially Ted Turner hasn't been involved with the Braves since the mid-90's. New owners, a beautiful new park, and a decent team.
Don’t let facts get in the way!
A lot of folks are like the singer John Prine sang about his grandpa - “ he voted for Eisenhower ‘cause Lincoln won the war!”

It hurt me a bit too, cause man, I hate the Dodgers... but I'm counting on the Rays to play well and Dave Roberts to blow it with poor managing. But, I think about those obnoxious UGA/Braves combo fans out there, and I revel in their misery. Too the actual Braves fans on this board who aren't a bunch of bandwagon jumpers, I honestly feel bad for y'all. Feel bad for Freddie Freeman too, but I do think they'll get a WS win in the next couple of years...
I'm sure you remember the CWS back in 2016 when Coastal Carolina took home title. Who was their final game against, Arizona maybe? The story line got me there; D1 powerhouse vs a small school who just knew how to play ball.

In a sense I feel the same way about the Rays in this series. If I have the numbers correct we're comparing a 225MM payroll with the Dodgers to a 75MM payroll of the Rays. Powerhouse, so to speak, versus an FCS team.

That's probably a good thread.

Had to look it up, they beat Arizona.

And yeah, this is small market vs. the gold mine. Tampa Bay does such a good job with what they have, kind of like the A's, but the Ray's do it best, IMO. Should be a really good series.

I've been a Braves fan since about 68 when they had Rico Carty, Hank Aaron, Felix Milan and Joe Torre. Sat through a lot of losing seasons. Pulling for the Braves to win it all. The first game I got to attend was the season Jeff Buroughs had signed with the Braves.

Was '68 the year that the Braves also had Dusty Baker in the out field , Davey Johnson on second and Phil Nekro throwing the knuckle? Or was that an earlier year they had all these guys on the same team?
