🏈 Barn DC...to Iowa State

This is the best, worst coaching debacle I've ever seen. Man at that laughs!

BTW, who here thinks ISU catches any heat for hiring a white guy? The article states that Rhoades was the only candidate interviewed.

Being a cynic on things like this, I don't think much will be made of this since ISU is not a high profile football school and it is not in the south.

Maybe Seneca Wallace will start acting like Charles Barkley though.

I don't know, pork...I still cringe whenever I hear Mike Price's name come up.

I wasn't thrilled when Price was hired but in all fairness he did do a pretty good job at the armpit of the world. Pullman, Washington is a tough place to coach at. Price was up and down there, but the fact that he was "up" some of the time and had some very good teams is a credit to him as a coach.

Since he's been gone WSU is back to being one of the worst programs in all of college football.

Washington State, 1988: 9-3

Mike Price at Washington State...
1989: 6-5
1990: 3-8
1991: 4-7
1992: 9-3
1993: 5-6
1994: 8-4
1995: 3-8
1996: 5-6
1997: 10-2
1998: 3-8
1999: 3-9
2000: 4-7
2001: 10-2
2002: 10-3

I know WSU is not a prime location to attract recruits and win consistently, but based on how he's done at UTEP, he's probably only good for a winning season every fourth or fifth year. I just had to scratch my head when we hired him. His Pensacola trip really killed us from a PR standpoit, and at a time when we needed all the good pub we could get.

Price + Joe Kines would have been very interesting.

He might have flopped over the long haul, but the 2005 team with Brodie and that defense would have been frighteningly good.

I said the same thing to the misses last night. Hipocracy runs amuk.

His good years at WSU happened when he had a solid QB. Price and Brodie would have been an interesting combination. His down years, the opposite...hardly any QB experience.
