šŸˆ Bama's Likely BCS Opponents and the Probable Outcome

I don't spend time on the Duck boards, I prefer to post other boards, it's easier to learn more about teams. Home boards tend to be so bias it's difficult to really learn much. I just try and be respectful when I visit other boards. Avoid the trash talk and share info.

Welcome! Hope to see our teams duking it out in the NC this year (finally) :tennis:

Hey we LOVE sportsmen here and welcome! Stick around and share all you want...

There is a chance...but unlikely. It will be down to 4 in a matter of weeks (from 6 undefeated teams).

  • FSU/Clemson winner this weekend - (but they both have to play in State OOC rivals at the end of the year).
  • Oregon/UCLA winner play 10/26.
  • Ohio State (although the odds are against them)
  • Alabama.

From there, I could see both Stanford and Michigan making things interesting and reducing it down to two. Then as I mentioned above, the two out of conference state rivals Clemson/SC and Florida/FSU at the end of November.

Plano, I can't see Michigan making it interesting for anyone of caliber right now. Rivalry with Ohio St. notwithstanding, Michigan is horrible. They have struggled with Akron, UConn and lost to an undermanned Penn St. team. I would love to see them beat the Bucks but I'm afraid Urban's gonna kill 'em.

Until we lose, we deserve to be number 1. If we lose this year, we won't play ourselves back into the game. Too much anti-BAMA sentiment and the media is ready for a new champion. I hope we disappoint them all.

Oregon/Nebraska inked a two year deal today so I wonder if the PAC12 and Big10 both decided not to format a 9 team conference schedule like the SEC?

As of right now:

The PAC and Big12 play nine. The B1G will start a nine game conference slate in 2016. ACC and AAC—along with the SEC—remain at eight.

Yeah, I agree with ya about Michigan, only said it because of the rivalry game and Ohio State going 25-0 in two seasons.

I remember the Pac-12/Big Ten trying to form a football agreement about regular OOC games being scheduled, but it was cancelled due to scheduling issues. I suspect they are still looking at doing this in the future once they can solve all the scheduling issues.

That agreement was reached in 2011 after the regular season. It was the second week of July, IIRC, that it was canceled "officially."

As mentioned earlier in this thread about a home and home series with Oregon, that was canceled—according to what Larry Scott said—due to scheduling conflicts with non-conference games AND their nine game schedule.

It makes sense to me. If you think about it, most years that'll still mean a team will face five OOC teams which translates to a third of their schedule that season (assuming they make the CFPCG.)

For decades, before the BCS, the Big 10 and PAC-12 played each other every year. Every team in each conference played one team from the other conference. Sort of went with the Rose Bowl tie in. Obviously things have changed. It's time for everyone to cut down on the cup cake schedules. A 9 game conference schedule, a couple major conference OOC games and ok a Sun Belt, MAC or WAC game for a warm up. That will give a better national picture of how good teams are.

I missed that about Oregon and Bama having a home and home canceled. Are you sure that's correct?
